Location

Nestled amidst tropical vegetation and on a kilometer-long sandy beach, the resort is approximately a 25-minute drive from Playa del Carmen and about a 20-minute drive from Tulum. The beautiful sandy beach is protected by a coral reef offshore. The Riviera Maya Golf Club is located within the resort. It is particularly well-suited for families.

Guests of the Bahia Principe Grand Coba can also use the à la carte restaurants of the Bahia Principe Grand Tulum (CUN161), thus having access to a total of 10 restaurants. Additionally, there is a shuttle bus between the hotels, conference rooms, and the golf course.
Effective immediately, hotels in Mexico will gradually introduce an "Eco-Tax."
As a result, every user of a hotel room in Mexico is obliged to pay a local tax to the state at the hotel in cash, similar to a tourist tax.

As of April 1, 2021, a tourism tax came into effect and currently amounts to a one-time fee of 224 Mexican Pesos or approximately 11 US Dollars per person, regardless of the duration of the stay in the country.

Alternatively, the tax can be paid in cash upon arrival at the airport. It is advisable to carry the exact amount in Mexican Pesos or US Dollars.

No Smoking

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal Information

During stays between April and December, increased occurrences of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, brown algae are often observed more frequently in the Caribbean during this period. This affects the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are naturally working to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which may generate some noise.
