Sustainability

With our "Reisen mit Zukunft" label, we identify hotels that demonstrably meet recognized sustainability standards. These include, among others, standards recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and the Tourism Sustainability Certifications Alliance (TSCA). Currently, around 20% of the hotels in our program meet corresponding criteria and have been verified through independent certification procedures. This product line offers our guests additional guidance when choosing their accommodation.

Further information on the topic of sustainability at Schauinsland-Reisen can be found at: https://nachhaltigkeit.schauinsland-reisen.de/reisen-mit-zukunft

This hotel has the following certification:
  • Earthcheck (valid until 23.03.2027)

Zusatzhinweis

Effective immediately, hotels in Mexico will gradually introduce an "Eco-Tax".
As a result, every hotel room user in Mexico is required to pay a state-levied fee, similar to a tourist tax, in cash at the hotel.
**************************************
A tourism tax was implemented on April 1, 2021, and currently amounts to a one-time payment of 224 Mexican Pesos or approx. 11 US dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.
The tax can be paid electronically before departure via the following link: http://www.visitax.gob.mx/sitio/
Alternatively, the tax can also be paid in cash upon arrival at the airport. It is recommended to carry the exact amount in Mexican Pesos or US Dollars.

Smoking ban

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations may be punishable by fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

Between April and December, increased occurrences of seagrass and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased presence of brown algae in the Caribbean is often recorded during this time. This affects the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, the use of appropriate machinery is necessary for this, which causes a slight background noise.
