This PortoBay group hotel is located above the Lido area, separated from the sea only by the promenade. The city center is approx. 2.5 km away. A shopping center with numerous shops is located in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The airport is approx. 19 km away.

The comfortable 4-star hotel is located in the Vila Porto Mare resort and has 146 studios and suites. It offers its guests a lobby with reception, elevator, 4 restaurants (including a buffet restaurant), 3 bars, and internet access (free of charge). The garden area features 2 swimming pools, a children's pool, a pool bar, and a sun terrace (sun loungers, bath towels, and parasols at the pool included). Studio with side sea view

The studios are approx. 24-26 m² and feature a combined living/bedroom (2 single beds, 90x190 cm) with bath/WC, hairdryer, cosmetic mirror, bathrobe, air conditioning, smart TV, telephone, safe (included), Wi-Fi (included), desk, seating area, kitchenette (stove, microwave, and small refrigerator), and a balcony with a side sea view, which may be limited depending on the location (S12). Can be booked as a studio for single use (S11).

Superior Studio with side sea view

Equipped the same as the studios, but slightly larger at approx. 31-37 m² (US2). Can be booked as a superior studio for single use (US1).
Also bookable as Studio Superior Type O (SOU) with limited inventory and at a special price.

Junior suite with side sea view

These have the same equipment as the studios, but are slightly larger at approx. 38-44 m² and consist of a living room and a separate bedroom (with 2 single beds) separated by a sliding door (JS2). Can be booked as a junior suite for single use (JS1).
Also bookable as Junior Suite Type O with limited inventory and at a special price (JSA).

For half board, breakfast and dinner are in buffet form.
If guests with half board wish to visit one of the à-la-carte restaurants, they will receive a credit of €17 per person per dinner. Currently, 3 à-la-carte restaurants are open: the "Alfama" restaurant (Mediterranean), "Il Basilico" (Italian), and the new "Horta" restaurant (healthy comfort food/Wednesday-Sunday).

Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover the most beautiful panoramas of Madeira on this half-day tour. Overlook the bay of Funchal from the Pico dos Barcelos height and continue to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down to the bottom of an extinct volcano. At the bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley). Continue to Monte, where you will visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride the traditional basket sleds. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Espada – black scabbard fish – is caught). Continue via Cabo Girão (highest cliff in Europe at 580m), and then the route takes us along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta de Sol, it goes upwards to the Pául da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, we descend to Porto Moniz to the natural sea pools. The lunch break is taken here. The return route is via the north coast and leads via Seixal to São Vicente. From there, it goes up over the Encumeada Pass (1007m), where you can see the north and south coasts at the same time. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). Then it's downhill to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the middle of Madeira's Laurisilva forest, which has been declared a World Heritage Site. The journey continues to Santana, which is known for its thatched houses. The lunch break is taken here. After that, we go to Pico do Facho. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and last excursion takes us, after an approx. 1.5-hour Levada hike (difficulty: easy), to the Botanical Garden, which is famous for its approx. 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
