The PortoBay Group hotel is located above the Lido, separated from the sea only by the promenade. The city center is approx. 2.5 km away. There is a shopping center with numerous shops near the hotel. The airport is approx. 19 km away.

The comfortable 4-star hotel is located in the Vila Porto Mare resort and has 146 studios and suites. It offers its guests a lobby with reception, elevator, 4 restaurants (including a buffet restaurant), 3 bars, and internet access (free of charge). In the garden area there are 2 swimming pools, a children's pool, a pool bar and a sun terrace (sun loungers, bath towels and umbrellas by the pool included). All facilities of the Vila Porto Mare resort can be used.

Studio side sea view

The studios are approx. 24-26 sqm and have a combined living/sleeping area (2 single beds, 90x200 cm) with bath/WC, hairdryer, cosmetic mirror, bathrobe, air conditioning, smart TV, telephone, safe (incl.), Wi-Fi (incl.), desk, seating area, kitchenette (stove, microwave and small refrigerator) and a balcony with a side sea view, which may be limited depending on the location (S12). Can also be booked as a studio for single use (S11).

Superior Studio side sea view

Equipped like the studios, but slightly larger at approx. 34-40 sqm (US2). Can also be booked as a Superior Studio for single use (US1).
Also bookable as a Superior Studio type O (SOU) with limited availability and at a special price.

Junior Suite side sea view

They have the same amenities as the studios, but are slightly larger at approx. 38-44 sqm and consist of a living room and a separate bedroom (with 2 single beds) separated by a sliding door (JS2). Can be booked as a Junior Suite for single use (JS1).
Also bookable as a Junior Suite type O with limited availability and at a special price (JSA).

Buffet style. If guests wish to dine in one of the à la carte restaurants, they will receive a credit of €17 per person per dinner. Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover the most beautiful panoramas of Madeira on this half-day tour. From the Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint, you overlook the bay of Funchal and continue to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down into the crater of an extinct volcano. At the very bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nun's Valley). Continue to Monte, where you visit the Church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride the traditional toboggans. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Espada – black scabbardfish – is caught). Continue over Cabo Girão (Europe's highest sea cliff at 580m), and then the route leads along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta de Sol, the path leads up to the plateau of Pául da Serra (1400m). Finally, descend to Porto Moniz to the natural sea pools. Lunch break here. The return journey is via the north coast, passing through Seixal to São Vicente. From there, ascend over the Encumeada pass (1007m), where you can see both the north and south coasts simultaneously. Then return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). Then descend to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the middle of Madeira's laurel forest (Laurisilva), which has been declared a World Heritage site. The journey continues to Santana, known for its thatched houses. Lunch break here. Afterwards, proceed to Pico do Facho. Then return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and final excursion takes us on an approx. 1.5-hour levada walk (difficulty level: easy) to the Botanical Garden, famous for its approximately 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
