The Minos Mare Royal hotel is located directly on a Blue Flag awarded sandy beach in the Platanias holiday area and is an ideal place for peace and relaxation. The centre of Rethymnon is approx. 5 km away from the hotel. A selection of shops, restaurants, cafés and tavernas can be found in the immediate vicinity. The distance to Heraklion airport is approx. 78 km and 72 km to Chania airport.

This well-maintained 5-star complex, which is popular with regular guests, is a Schauinsland-Reisen-Original and features a 24-hour reception, lift, Wi-Fi (included), a main restaurant, an à-la-carte restaurant, a lobby bar, mini-market, souvenir shop and a small library. The outdoor area includes a beautiful garden with many shade-giving palm trees, a swimming pool with hydromassage function and a pool bar. Towels are provided to guests free of charge. Sun loungers and parasols are included for hotel guests at the pool and beach.

Deluxe Double Room Pool View

Feature a bathroom with bathtub/WC, hairdryer, toiletries, bathrobes and slippers, make-up mirror. Furthermore, the rooms are equipped with individually adjustable air conditioning, safe, telephone, flatscreen satellite TV, radio/CD player, Wi-Fi (included), minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea maker, pillow menu as well as a balcony with garden view. Guests receive a welcome package (sparkling wine and fruits) upon arrival and mineral water is refilled daily. Lunch is included once per stay as a set menu (DBP/IDD).

Half Board

A rich breakfast buffet (7-10:30 am) in the main restaurant with a view of the green gardens and the pool provides the perfect foundation for a successful start to the day.
A selection of egg dishes and omelettes can be ordered à la carte.
For dinner (7-9:30 pm), there is the possibility to choose from one of four main courses (meat, fish, vegetarian, grilled). In addition, a buffet with starters and desserts is available.
Proper attire (long trousers, appropriate footwear) is requested for dinner.

Destination information: Climate resilience levy

For stays starting from 1.1.2018, the Greek government charges a climate resilience levy, which is to be paid by the guest on site, comparable to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and is staggered from 1.1.2025 from 0.50 Euro-15 € per day and room.
