Location

The Fives Beach Hotel & Residence is located directly on the gently sloping sandy beach of the Riviera Maya. Playa del Carmen is approx. 10 minutes away. Cancun Airport is approx. 40 minutes away by car.

The luxury resort with 662 suites offers its guests a lobby with reception, a buffet restaurant with international cuisine, 14 restaurants and gourmet corners, a burger/taco corner on the beach, an ice cream parlor, and 8 bars (2 of which are pool bars). In the garden area, there are 6 swimming pools (two of which are infinity pools and an adult-only pool) and a children's pool. Sun loungers, umbrellas, and beach towels are included by the pool and on the beach. The hotel also has a souvenir shop and a hairdresser (both for a fee).

The rooms offer a king-size bed or two double beds, air conditioning, cable TV, safe, minibar (daily refill), coffee maker, hairdryer, telephone, iron, ironing board, bathrobe, and balcony or terrace (DD2/DD1).

One Bedroom

The One Bedroom rooms have a king-size bed, a separate living room with a sofa bed, a kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, oven, stove), a dining table, minibar, shower/toilet, air conditioning, and a balcony/terrace (OB2). Also bookable as One Bedroom Swim Up (OSU).

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults occupancy, no extra beds are placed in the room, meaning occupancy: 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transportation, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

During stays between April and December, an increased occurrence of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, brown algae are often found more frequently in the Caribbean during this period. This affects the beach and the sea. Hotel management and local authorities are of course endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which generates a slight background noise.
