Location

The Fives Beach Hotel & Residence is located directly on the gently sloping sandy beach on the Riviera Maya. The center of Playa del Carmen is about a 10-minute drive away. Cancun Airport is approximately a 40-minute drive away.

The luxury resort with 662 suites offers its guests a lobby with a reception, a buffet restaurant with international cuisine, 14 restaurants and gourmet corners, a burger/taco corner on the beach, an ice cream parlor, and 6 bars (2 of which are pool bars). The gardens feature 8 swimming pools (two of which are infinity pools and an adult-only pool) and a children's pool. Sun loungers, umbrellas, and bath towels are included by the pool and on the beach. The hotel also has a souvenir shop and a hairdresser (both at a charge).
The focus is on the All Senses Inclusive philosophy, which holistically combines stay, culinary delights, relaxation, and shared experiences.

Deluxe Double Room

The rooms feature a king-size bed or two double beds, air conditioning, cable TV, safe, minibar (daily refill), coffee machine, hairdryer, telephone, iron, ironing board, and a balcony or terrace (DD2/DD1).

One Bedroom

The One Bedroom rooms have a king-size bed, a separate living room with a sofa bed, a kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, oven, stove), a dining table, minibar, shower/toilet, air conditioning, and a balcony/terrace (OB2). Also bookable as a One Bedroom Swim Up (OSU).
Rooms with direct pool access pose an increased risk for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children booking these room types.

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). When occupied by 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds are placed in the room, meaning 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

During stays between April and December, increased occurrences of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, there is often an increased presence of brown algae in the Caribbean. This affects the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are of course endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which emits a slight background noise.
