Opened in December 2016, the hotel is located directly on the beach in Playa del Carmen. The transfer time to/from Cancun Airport is approximately 40 minutes.

The generously designed complex consists of 4 hotel areas with a total of 974 junior suites and suites. Furthermore, the hotel features an extensive freshwater pool landscape with five outdoor pools and a children's pool. Sun loungers and bath towels at the pool and beach are included. 1 buffet restaurant, 8 à la carte restaurants, 12 bars, a sports bar, as well as Mike's Coffee Bar and an ice cream parlor cater to guests' culinary needs.

Junior Suite Nature View

The spacious Junior Suite Nature View offers space for up to four adults with one king-size bed or two double beds and a sofa bed. From the furnished terrace, guests enjoy a view of the tropical garden landscape. Its proximity to the water park and pools makes this room category particularly attractive for families. Amenities include air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a minibar (replenished daily), a coffee maker, a safe, and a bathroom with a rain shower and hydromassage bathtub. Bookable from Nov 1, 2026 (JU2).

Junior Suite Waterpark Slide

With otherwise identical facilities, these rooms are located just a few steps from the water park, the pools, and the entertainment areas (2JY/1JY).

Paradise Junior Suite Nature View

Features the same amenities but is located in a quieter area of the resort, offering a more relaxed atmosphere. Due to its proximity to restaurants, bars, and other resort facilities, this category combines relaxation with convenient access to the complex's amenities.
Also bookable as Paradise Junior Suite Swim Up (JSO).
Rooms with direct pool access pose an increased safety risk for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

El Beso Junior Suite Nature View

With otherwise identical facilities, these rooms are located in the adults-only area of the complex (BSP).
Optionally also bookable as El Beso Junior Suite Swim Up (EJS).

Privilege Junior Suite

With identical facilities, the room additionally features a Nespresso machine and a whirlpool on the terrace, as well as the following Privilege services: daily turndown service, access to the Privilege Lounge with a chill-out zone, access to the spa area and discounts on treatments, separate check-in and check-out, and access to the Privilege sun terrace with Bali beds (J2R).
Extra Privilege Service: Exclusive evening excursion from 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM, including food, drinks, and entertainment at another Ocean hotel. Guests must provide their own transport. (The Privilege Concierge must be notified by the customer 24 hours before the excursion).

Zusatzhinweis

As of April 1, 2021, a tourism tax was implemented, currently amounting to a one-time fee of 224 Mexican Pesos or approx. 11 US Dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

Smoking ban

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

During stays between April and December, increased occurrences of seagrass and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, frequent appearances of brown algae in the Caribbean are noted during this time. This can affect the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, making every effort to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal administrations. However, the use of appropriate machinery is required for this, which may result in a slight background noise.
