Opened in December 2016, the hotel is located directly on the beach in Playa del Carmen. The transfer time from/to Cancun airport is approximately 40 minutes.

The spacious facility consists of 4 hotel areas with a total of 974 junior suites and suites. Furthermore, the hotel features an expansive freshwater pool landscape with five outdoor pools and one children's pool. Sun loungers and pool towels are included at the pool and on the beach. 1 buffet restaurant, 8 à la carte restaurants, 12 bars, a sports bar, as well as Mike's Coffee shop and an ice cream parlor cater to the physical well-being of guests.

Junior Suite

Equipped with one king-size bed or two double beds, additional sofa bed, bathroom with bathtub and separate shower, flat-screen TV with international channels, air conditioning, safe, minibar (daily replenishment included), steam iron and ironing board, Wi-Fi, terrace or balcony. The rooms have pool or garden views (JS2/JS1).

Junior Suite "Daisy"

The rooms are equipped like the Junior Suite, located in the "Daisy" hotel area, ideal for families with children (2JY/1JY).

Junior Suite "El Beso"

The rooms are equipped like the Junior Suite, but are located in the adults-only area of the resort (2BJ/1BJ). Optionally also bookable as Swim Up (EJS). Rooms with direct pool access pose an increased safety risk for young children. Therefore, for bookings of these room types, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children for safety reasons.

Privilege Junior Suite

With the same amenities, the room additionally features a Nespresso machine and a whirlpool on the terrace, plus the following Privilege services: daily turndown service, access to the Privilege Lounge with chill-out zone, access to the spa area with a discount on treatments, separate check-in and check-out, and access to the Privilege sun terrace with Bali beds (J2R). Extra Privilege Service: Exclusive evening excursion from 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM, including food, drinks, and entertainment at another Ocean Hotel. Guests must arrange their own transport. (The Privilege Concierge must be notified by the guests 24 hours prior to the excursion). Rooms with direct pool access pose an increased safety risk for young children. Therefore, for bookings of these room types, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children for safety reasons (PJU).

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m), subject to availability. For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds will be placed in the room. This means the occupancy is 2 persons per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Smoking ban

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

During stays between April and December, there may be an increased occurrence of seaweed and algae due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, frequent sightings of brown algae in the Caribbean are common during this time. This can affect the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, striving to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the local municipalities. However, the use of appropriate machinery is necessary for this, which results in a slight noise level.
