The 5-star Iberostar Punta Cana hotel is located on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic, directly on the shores of the idyllic Playa Bávaro beach. A vast tropical beach section, surrounded by a coral reef, is in the immediate vicinity. Punta Cana Airport is approximately 25 km from the hotel.

The luxury hotel comprises a total of 427 rooms, divided into standard rooms, family rooms, and suites. Within the complex, there is a beautiful outdoor pool area with 3 pools, as well as a garden and a terrace offering a dreamlike view. Stroll through the hotel's own shops, visit the casino, or enjoy the disco in the evening. For your culinary well-being, there are 7 restaurants, 2 buffet restaurants, and 8 bars/lounges (including a pool bar). Sun loungers, parasols, and pool towels are provided free of charge at the pool and on the beach.

Premium Room

The Premium rooms are comfortably furnished (approx. 39 m²) and feature a king-size bed or double bed, bathroom with shower, balcony or terrace, air conditioning, ceiling fan, flat-screen TV, safe, hairdryer, iron & ironing board. Further amenities include a coffee machine (including coffee and tea) and a minibar with beer, soft drinks, and water (replenished daily) (PR2/PR1). Also bookable as Premium Upper Floor (PUF).

Premium Tropical View

These rooms have the same facilities, but offer a dreamlike garden view from the balcony/terrace (PTZ).
Also bookable as Premium Garden Access with direct access to the garden via the terrace (P2G/P1G).

Premium Ocean View

The Premium rooms with ocean view have the same facilities, differing only in the ocean view provided from the balcony/terrace (PVO).

DZ Premium Near Pool

These are located in the immediate vicinity of the pool and offer the same facilities as the Premium rooms (NPS).

Family Room

Consist of 2 double rooms (1x with king-size bed and 1x with 2 double beds) with a connecting door (DF2).

Junior Suite

More spacious than the Premium rooms, with a king-size bed and an additional seating area. Guests enjoy a view of the garden from the balcony (JS2). Also bookable as Junior Suite Upper Floor (C2J).

Family Suite

Consist of 2 double rooms like the family rooms and a shared bathroom with additional amenities: free toys upon arrival, a PlayStation (on request) in the room, and many Star Camp activities. A babysitting service can be used free of charge once per stay (until 10 PM) (2MF).

One Bedroom Family Pool Access

The rooms have the same facilities as the Premium rooms, but are located near the pool (2F1).
Rooms with direct pool access pose an increased safety risk for young children. Therefore, for safety reasons, schauinsland-reisen applies a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds are placed in the room; this means occupancy is: 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

The "Hispaniola" restaurant offers a daily international breakfast buffet from 7 AM to 10 AM. Daily lunch buffet from 1 PM to 3 PM, as well as daily dinner buffets from 6:30 PM to 10 PM. The buffet restaurants "Hispaniola" and "Higuey" offer Mexican breakfast and dinner in buffet form from 8 AM to 11 AM. You can enjoy oriental delicacies in "La Pagoda" from 6:30 PM to 10 PM. At "Maria Bonita," you can enjoy Mexican dinner from 6:30 PM to 10 PM. Dinner with French gourmet cuisine for discerning palates is available from 6:30 PM to 10 PM. A la carte restaurants (with prior reservation, limited per stay, 1 week = 3 reservations, 2 weeks = 5 reservations), some for an extra charge. Wi-Fi.

Sports for a fee

For active holiday days, the luxury hotel offers a PADI course (diving school), where you can experience trips to the most beautiful diving spots, including: underwater caves, coral gardens, the sunken "Astron," and depending on the time of year, you can even listen to the songs of humpback whales under water. Alternatively, you can play golf on the 18-hole course.

Children's program

Star Camp: For children, the hotel has 3 kids' clubs/mini clubs. "Monkey" from 4 to 7 years, "Dolphin" from 8 to 12 years, and "Eagle" from 13 to 17 years. Furthermore, there is a separate pool, a playground, and a children's menu in the restaurant. Childcare is only available for a fee.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, increased occurrences of seagrass and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, frequent accumulation of sargassum (brown algae) is often recorded in the Caribbean during this time. This can affect the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, making every effort to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal administrations. This requires the use of appropriate machinery, which may cause a slight noise level.
