The Quinta da Penha de França Mar hotel is located by the sea with direct access. The facilities of the sister hotel Quinta da Penha de França (accessible via a footbridge and an elevator) can also be used. The center of Funchal is about a 10-minute walk away. Airport approx. 20 km away.

The Quinta da Penha de França Mar hotel has 33 rooms. The double rooms with sea view have the same amenities as the double rooms on the pool side, but they have a balcony with a sea view (DM). Also bookable for single use (DEM).

Star Tour Excursion Program (subject to change/Daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover Madeira's most beautiful panoramas on this half-day tour. From the Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint, you overlook the bay of Funchal and continue to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down into the crater of an extinct volcano. At the very bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley). Continue to Monte, where you will visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride in the traditional wicker sledges. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Espada – Black Scabbardfish – is caught). Continue over Cabo Girão (highest sea cliff in Europe at 580m), and then the route leads along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta de Sol, it goes uphill to the Paul da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, it descends to Porto Moniz to the natural sea pools. The lunch break will be taken here. The return journey will be along the north coast via Seixal to São Vicente. From there, it goes uphill over the Encumeada Pass (1007m), where you can see both the north and south coasts simultaneously. Then return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). Then descend to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the heart of Madeira's laurel forest (Laurisilva), a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue to Santana, known for its thatched houses. Lunch will be served here. Afterwards, go to Pico do Facho. Then return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and final excursion leads us to the Botanical Garden after about 1.5 hours of Levada hiking (difficulty: easy), which is famous for its approximately 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
