The Madeiran country house hotel is located in a quiet area above the island's capital, Funchal, and is situated directly next to the famous Palheiro Gardens. It is approximately 7 km to the city/town center of Funchal with its restaurants, bars, shopping and entertainment options. A free shuttle bus to Funchal runs once a day (subject to availability, limited capacity). Funchal International Airport is approximately 15 km away.

The 5-star hotel features a main building ("Old House") with 3 floors and 2 annex buildings ("Golfwing" and "Gardenwing") with 2 floors each, totaling 38 luxuriously appointed rooms/suites, and offers direct access to the beautiful Palheiro Golf course. Hotel facilities include a reception area with 24-hour reception, a lobby with seating areas, an exquisite à la carte restaurant, a fireplace room with a library, a TV room, a small cozy lounge with a bar, and a spa area with an indoor pool, sauna, and steam bath. In the beautifully landscaped garden, there is a sun terrace, a freshwater swimming pool, and a tennis court. Sun loungers and parasols are available to hotel guests in the pool area free of charge.

Double Room

The double rooms (D) were renovated in summer 2023 and are approx. 28 m² in size, located in the separate annex building ("Gardenwing") which adjoins the main building ("Old House"). Facilities include a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, desk, minibar (for a fee), safe (included), air conditioning (individually controlled, seasonal), central heating (individually controlled, seasonal), cable TV, Wi-Fi (included), and a garden view. The rooms are located on the ground floor or first floor. Also bookable as a double room for single use in summer (DE) or as a double room Type I with a limited quota at a special price (DI).

Double Room Superior

The superior double rooms are approx. 32 m² in size and have similar facilities to the double rooms; they are located in the annex building ("Golfwing") on the ground floor or 1st floor with a view of the golf course. They offer a bathtub and a separate shower in the bathroom and, on the ground floor, some have a small veranda. Also bookable as superior double room for single use (DSU/DEU).

Double Room Deluxe

The deluxe double rooms were extensively renovated in summer 2022 and, with similar facilities to the double rooms, are located in the main building ("Old House"). Also bookable as deluxe double room for single use (DD2/DD1). Bookable in summer.

Junior Suite

The junior suites (JS2) were extensively renovated in summer 2022 and, while otherwise having similar facilities to the double rooms, are significantly more spacious (approx. 52 m² in size) and are located on the ground floor or 1st floor in the main building ("Old House"). These rooms are available on request.

Directions from Funchal Airport (FNC):
Take the motorway towards Funchal. Please pay attention to the numbered exit signs on the motorway and take exit 13 (Funchal (Boa Nova); P. Ferreiro) from the motorway.
Please watch your speed when taking the exit. The exit is very short and has a sharp right turn. Turn right towards Palheiro Ferreiro, Palheiro Golf. After the S-curve, turn left and follow the signs for Palheiro Golf up the mountain.
When entering the Palheiro Estate, you will see a signpost for Casa Velha. Follow the signpost to the left and after about 500m you will reach Casa Velha.
