This Madeiran country house hotel is situated in a quiet location above the island's capital, Funchal, and is located directly next to the famous Palheiro Gardens. It is approximately 7 km to the city/town centre of Funchal with its restaurants, bars, shopping and entertainment venues. A complimentary shuttle bus to Funchal runs once a day (subject to availability, limited capacity). Funchal International Airport is approximately 15 km away.

The 5-star hotel features a main building ("Old House") with 3 floors and 2 annex buildings ("Golfwing" and "Gardenwing") with 2 floors each, a total of 38 luxuriously equipped rooms/suites, and offers direct access to the beautiful Palheiro golf course. Hotel facilities include an entrance area with a 24-hour reception, a lobby with seating areas, an exquisite à-la-carte restaurant, a fireplace room with a library, a TV room, a small cozy lounge with a bar, and a spa area with an indoor pool, sauna, and steam bath. In the beautifully landscaped garden, there is a sun terrace, a freshwater swimming pool, and a tennis court. Sun loungers and parasols are available to hotel guests free of charge in the pool area.

Accommodation

Double room

The double rooms (D) were renovated in the summer of 2023 and are approx. 28 m² in size, located in a separate annex building ("Gardenwing") which borders the main building ("Old House"). Amenities include a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, desk, minibar (for a fee), safe (included), air conditioning (individually controlled, seasonal), central heating (individually controlled, seasonal), cable TV, Wi-Fi (included), and a garden view. The rooms are located on the ground floor or the first floor. Can also be booked as a double room for single use in summer (DE) or as a double room Type I with a limited quota at a special price (DI).

Double room Superior

The superior double rooms are approx. 32 m² in size and have similar equipment to the double rooms; they are located in the annex building ("Golfwing") on the ground floor or the 1st floor with a view of the golf course. They offer a bathtub and a separate shower in the bathroom, and some on the ground floor have a small veranda. Can also be booked as a superior double room for single use (DSU/DEU).

Double room Deluxe

The deluxe double rooms were extensively renovated in the summer of 2022 and are located in the main building ("Old House") with similar amenities to the double rooms. Can also be booked as a deluxe double room for single use (DD2/DD1). Bookable in summer.

Junior suite

The junior suites (JS2) were extensively renovated in the summer of 2022. They offer similar amenities to the double rooms but are significantly more spacious (approx. 52 m²) and are located on the ground floor or the 1st floor in the main building ("Old House"). These rooms are available on request.
