The Pestana Promenade Premium Ocean & Spa Resort hotel is located on the promenade (accessible through a gate in the hotel garden) with direct sea access, connecting "Praia Formosa" and the Lido area. From here, you can enjoy a magnificent view over the Atlantic Ocean. The modern "Forum" shopping center is just a 5-minute walk away.

The hotel, part of the renowned Pestana hotel group, has a total of 128 rooms spread over 8 floors. It offers a reception area, 2 elevators, 2 restaurants (including one theme restaurant and one à-la-carte restaurant), a games room with a small library, as well as a pool/snack bar and a cocktail bar. In the outdoor area of the complex, there are three freshwater swimming pools with a separate area for children and a whirlpool. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available free of charge.

Double Room Sea View

The Double Rooms with Sea View feature bath/WC, hairdryer, seating area with sofa bed, air conditioning, telephone, cable TV (LCD TV), pay-TV (for a fee), safe (free of charge), minibar (for a fee), wooden floors, and a terrace or balcony located on the ground floor or 1st floor (DM). Also bookable for single use (DEM).

Double Room Superior Sea View

The Superior Double Rooms have the same facilities as the Double Rooms with Sea View, feature a bath or shower/WC, but are located in a preferred position from the 2nd floor upwards (DMU).

Classic Room (FNCA02)

These approximately 21 m² rooms are located in the basement area and feature two single beds, minibar (for a fee), safe, LCD TV, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, bathtub/WC, and hairdryer. The rooms are only accessible via stairs (CC2/CL2).

Double Room Pool View (FNCA02)

Like the Classic Rooms, these spacious rooms offer two single beds and a balcony with a view of the pool (PD/SZP/EP/SZE). Also bookable with side sea view (DMS/RX2/EMS/RX1) for an extra charge.

Suite Sea View (FNCA02)

The cozy suites (approx. 66 m², S2M) feature a visually separated sleeping area, a living/sleeping area, air conditioning, bath or shower/WC, TV, minibar (for a fee), rental safe, and balcony.

Travel information

Star Tours excursion program (subject to change/daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover the most beautiful panoramas of Madeira on this half-day tour. From the Pico dos Barcelos heights, you overlook the bay of Funchal, and then continue to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down to the bottom of an extinct volcano. At the very bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley). Continue to Monte, where you visit the Nossa Senhora do Monte church. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride the traditional wicker toboggans. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Espada – black scabbard fish – is caught). Continue via Cabo Girão (at 580m, the highest cliff in Europe), and then the path leads along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta de Sol, it goes upwards to the Pául da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, we descend to Porto Moniz to the natural sea swimming pools. A lunch break is taken here. The return journey is via the north coast and leads through Seixal to São Vicente. From there, it goes upwards via the Encumeada pass (1007m), where you can see the north and south coasts simultaneously. Afterward, return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). The route then goes downhill to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the middle of Madeira's laurel forest (Laurisilva), which has been declared a World Heritage Site. The trip continues to Santana, known for its thatched houses. A lunch break is taken here. Afterward, it goes to Pico do Facho. Finally, return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and final excursion takes us after an approx. 1.5-hour Levada hike (difficulty level: easy) to the Botanical Garden, which is famous for its approximately 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
