The modern comfort hotel is located above the sea, directly on the promenade (with direct access through a gate). The shopping center "Forum" with numerous shops, as well as various bars and restaurants, are quickly reachable on foot. The center of Funchal city is approx. 3 km away (local bus connection from the hotel). The seawater swimming pool "Ponta Gorda" is located below the hotel (admission fee applies).

schauinsland-reisen original: The popular holiday hotel is located in the tourist center of Funchal, above the Lido. The hotel has a total of 215 accommodation units spread over 11 floors. Further facilities include 3 elevators, a reception hall with a reception desk, and a bar with access to the panorama terrace on the 6th floor with a fantastic view over the Atlantic. The buffet restaurant "Atlantic" and the à la carte restaurant "Sal" (on the 3rd floor of the hotel), which primarily serves Italian specialties, leave nothing to be desired. On the beautiful sun terrace with a panoramic view, there is the freshwater swimming pool (heated) with a separate children's pool and pool bar. Sun loungers and umbrellas are included in the pool area. Bath towels are free upon arrival (change for a fee).

Double Room Sea View

The modernly designed double rooms with sea view, approx. 25 m², are located in a prime location and face directly towards the sea. Further amenities include a bathroom with shower and toilet, hairdryer, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, kettle, telephone, safe (for a fee), minibar (for a fee), Wi-Fi (included), desk, and a furnished balcony (DM). Also bookable as a double room sea view for single occupancy (DEM).

The double rooms with sea view have the same amenities as the double room sea view, but with flexible pricing and a limited contingent (DMI).

Double Room

The double rooms have the same amenities as the double rooms with sea view, but face the land side (D). Also bookable as a Young Traveller Room at a special price (YTR - all travelers must be between 18 and 29 years old). Also bookable as Type O (DZO) with a limited contingent.

Double Room Type I

The double rooms Type I have the same amenities as the double room, but with flexible pricing and a limited contingent (DI).

Premium Double Room Sea View

The Premium Double Rooms Sea View have the same size and amenities as the double rooms, but are located on the 8th to 11th floors of the hotel, offering spectacular sea views. All premium guests receive the following special services: a bottle of water, fruit basket, and honey cake upon arrival in the room, bathrobes and slippers on loan, free access to the Turkish bath and sauna (with prior reservation at reception), and early check-in/late check-out subject to availability. The safe in the room is free of charge. Furthermore, guests of the premium rooms benefit from exclusive access to the sun terrace on the 10th floor. 1 complimentary dinner in the à la carte restaurant (drinks not included) when booking Premium Double Rooms Sea View with Half Board for a minimum stay of 7 nights (2PM).

The Family Rooms Sea View consist of 2 standard double rooms with sea view connected by a door and offer ample space of approx. 50 m² for up to 4 people (FM2).

Star Tour Excursion Program (subject to change/daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover Madeira's most beautiful panoramas on this half-day tour. From Pico dos Barcelos plateau, you overlook Funchal Bay and continue to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down into the crater of an extinct volcano. At the very bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Valley of the Nuns). Continue to Monte, where you visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride the traditional basket sledges. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Espada – Black Scabbardfish – is caught). Continue over Cabo Girão (highest steep cape in Europe at 580m), and then the route leads along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta de Sol, the path leads up to the Paul da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, descend to Porto Moniz to the natural sea pools. A lunch break will be taken here. The return journey will be via the north coast, passing through Seixal to São Vicente. From there, ascend via the Encumeada pass (1007m), where you can see both the north and south coasts simultaneously. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). Descend to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the middle of Madeira's laurel forest (Laurisilva), a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue the journey to Santana, known for its thatched houses. A lunch break will be taken here. Afterwards, head to Pico do Facho. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and final excursion leads us, after approx. 1.5-hour levada walk (difficulty: easy), to the Botanical Garden, famous for its around 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
