This modern, comfortable hotel is located above the sea, directly on the promenade (with direct access via a gate). The "Forum" shopping center with its numerous shops, as well as various bars and restaurants, can be reached quickly on foot. It is approx. 3 km to the center of Funchal (bus connection from the hotel). The "Ponta Gorda" seawater swimming pool is located below the hotel (entrance fee applies).

schauinsland-reisen original: This popular holiday hotel is located in the tourist center of Funchal, situated above the Lido. The hotel has a total of 215 units spread over 11 floors. Further facilities include 3 elevators, a lobby with reception, and a bar with access to the panoramic terrace on the 6th floor with a wonderful view over the Atlantic. The "Atlantic" buffet restaurant offers a new outdoor area where breakfast or dinner can be enjoyed al fresco. The à-la-carte restaurant "Sal" (on the 3rd floor of the hotel), which mainly serves Italian specialties, leaves nothing to be desired. On the lovely sun terrace with panoramic views, there is a freshwater swimming pool (heated) with a separate children's pool and the renovated "Blue" pool bar, where delicious snacks and fresh salads are offered at lunchtime. Sun loungers and parasols are included in the pool area. Bath towels are provided free of charge upon arrival (change available for a fee).

The approx. 25 m² modernly designed Double Rooms with Sea View are in a prime location and face the sea directly. Further equipment includes a bathroom with a shower and WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, electric kettle, telephone, rental safe (for a fee), minibar (for a fee), Wi-Fi (included), desk, and a furnished balcony (DM). Also bookable for single occupancy (DEM).

Double Room Type I Sea View

Double Rooms Type I Sea View have the same facilities as the Double Room Sea View, but with a flexible price and limited availability (DMI).

Double Room

Double Rooms have the same facilities as the Double Rooms Sea View, but are located on the land side (D). Also bookable as a Young Traveller Room at a special price (YTR - all travelers must be between 18 and 29 years old). Also bookable as Type O (DZO) with limited availability.

Double Room Type I

Double Rooms Type I have the same facilities as the Double Room, but with a flexible price and limited availability (DI).

Premium Double Room Sea View

Premium Double Rooms with Sea View have the same size and facilities as the Double Rooms, but are located on the 8th to 11th floors of the hotel and thus offer a spectacular sea view. All Premium guests receive the following special services: a bottle of water, a fruit basket, and honey cake upon arrival in the room, bathrobes and slippers on loan, free access to the Turkish bath and sauna (by appointment at reception), and early check-in/late check-out subject to availability. The in-room safe is free of charge. In addition, guests in Premium rooms benefit from exclusive access to the sun terrace on the 10th floor. 1x free dinner in the à-la-carte restaurant (drinks not included) when booking the Premium Double Room Sea View with half-board for a minimum stay of 7 nights (2PM).

Family Rooms with Sea View consist of 2 standard Double Rooms with Sea View with a connecting door and, at approx. 50 m², offer enough space for up to 4 people (FM2).

Star tour excursion program (Subject to change/Daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover the most beautiful panoramas of Madeira on this half-day tour. From the Pico dos Barcelos hill, you overlook the bay of Funchal, and the journey continues to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down to the floor of an extinct volcano. At the very bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley). Continue to Monte, where you will visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride in the traditional toboggans (not included in the price).
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous black scabbard fish – Espada – is caught). The journey continues via Cabo Girão (Europe's highest sea cliff at 580m), and then the path leads along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta do Sol, it goes uphill to the Pául da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, we descend to Porto Moniz to the natural seawater swimming pools. The lunch break is taken here. The return journey is via the north coast and leads through Seixal to São Vicente. From there, it goes uphill via the Encumeada Pass (1007m), where you can see the north and south coasts at the same time. Then return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). The route then goes downhill to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the middle of Madeira's laurel forest (Laurisilva), which has been declared a World Heritage Site. The tour continues to Santana, known for its thatched-roof houses. The lunch break is taken here. Then we head to Pico do Facho. Then return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and final excursion takes us after an approx. 1.5-hour levada hike (difficulty level: easy) to the Botanical Garden, which is famous for its approx. 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
