Location

Matala is a coastal village on the southern coast of Crete, considered very charming. The village of Matala is located near Phaistos, one of Crete's most important palaces. Matala became particularly known in the 60s and 70s through the hippie movement with its famous caves on the island. The Zafiria Hotel is located only approx. 50 m from the famous Matala beach. The nearest airport is Heraklion (HER), which is approx. 70 km away.

The hotel was completely renovated in 2022 and has a total of 59 rooms spread over three floors. The hotel lobby with reception is located on the ground floor. The reception is open 24 hours and offers free internet access during opening hours. Guests can enjoy refreshing drinks at the hotel bar.

Note on Climate Resilience Levy
