Location

Matala is a coastal village on the southern coast of Crete, which is considered very charming. The village of Matala is located near Phaistos, one of the most important palaces of Crete. The place Matala became known, especially in the 60s and 70s, through the hippie movement with the well-known caves on the island. The Zafiria Hotel is located only approx. 50 m from the famous beach of Matala. The nearest airport is Heraklion (HER), which can be reached in approx. 70 km.

The hotel was completely renovated in 2022 and has a total of 59 rooms spread over three floors. On the ground floor of the hotel is the lobby with the reception. The reception is open 24 hours and offers free internet access during opening hours. Hotel guests can enjoy refreshing drinks at the hotel bar.
