Location

Matala is a coastal village on the southern coast of Crete that is considered truly enchanting. The village of Matala is located near Phaistos, one of the most important palaces of Crete. The town of Matala became particularly famous during the 60s and 70s due to the hippie movement and the well-known caves on the island. The Zafiria Hotel is located just approx. 50 m from the famous beach of Matala. The nearest airport is Heraklion (HER), which can be reached after approx. 70 km.
