Location

The Georgioupolis Resort is an exclusive holiday resort, separated from the gently shelving sandy beach only by the national road (approx. 250 m via an underpass; a shuttle service is offered upon request) and is located approx. 3 km from the village of Georgioupolis and 700 m from the center of Kavros. The famous Lake Kournas, the only natural freshwater lake on Crete, is approx. 3 km away. Chania Airport is approx. 48 km away and Heraklion Airport is approx. 101 km away.

The extensive hotel complex with 155 rooms consists of a main building and several two-story bungalow buildings. The main building features a bright, new and luxurious lobby with 24-hour reception, satellite TV corner, Wi-Fi (included throughout the hotel complex), mini market, non-smoking restaurant in a new design, the "Elia" à-la-carte restaurant with a partially covered outdoor terrace, and several bars (weather-dependent). The generously designed outdoor area features a large "activity pool" as well as a quiet/relaxation pool with a sun terrace, two pool/snack bars, a Meze restaurant, and a grill/fish restaurant on the beach (weather-dependent, reservation required).
Since the summer of 2020, there has been a water park belonging to the hotel with various slides and water games for guests of all ages.
On the beach, there is a beach bar and a "Sweet Corner" where a large selection of sweets and ice cream is available.
Sunbeds and umbrellas are available free of charge on the beach. In addition, there are Bali beds that can be reserved subject to availability (for a fee; included with AI Plus, subject to availability). Bath towels are available for a deposit (no deposit required from 2027). Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the hotel complex.

The newly renovated rooms feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, individually adjustable air conditioning, mini-fridge (a bottle of water is included on arrival), minibar (for a fee), satellite TV, telephone, safe, and balcony or terrace. They are located in the bungalow buildings or in the main building and are modernly furnished (DSU). Optionally also bookable for single use (DSE/UB1). These are Superior Double Rooms with identical amenities, located in the bungalows with garden view (B2A/B2B). Additionally, a welcome basket, bathrobes, slippers, electric kettle, and coffee/tea-making facilities are included.

Superior Family Room

Located in the bungalow buildings or in the main building, these are renovated and furnished in a fresh design. Same amenities as Superior Double Rooms, but more spacious and featuring a separate bedroom with a sofa bed or additional beds (F2U). Additionally, a welcome basket, bathrobes, slippers, electric kettle, minibar (when booking AI, refilled every 2 days with 2x cans of beer and cola and 1x Sprite each; further drinks and snacks for a fee), and coffee/tea-making facilities are provided.

Junior Suite

The comfortably furnished Junior Suites are located on the ground floor and feature a bedroom with a king-size bed and a separate living area with a sofa bed, bathroom with walk-in shower/WC, hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers, and toiletries, 2x individually adjustable air conditioning, fan, safe, 2x 46" Smart satellite TV with HDMI connection, telephone, coffee and tea station, espresso machine (4 capsules daily per room), and a minibar (included for AI guests and refilled daily with 2 cans of beer, 2 cans of soft drinks, 2 bottles of water, and 2 juices; for HP, replenishment only for a fee). Laptop, tablet, iPad, E-book reader, or PlayStation can be borrowed upon request and availability for a deposit. Further amenities include a full-length mirror. All Junior Suites feature a terrace with a table and chairs (bookable under hotel code HER713, JS2/J2B). Meals

Half Board

Breakfast and dinner in buffet form. Dinner is also available between 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM in the "Elia" à-la-carte restaurant, the Meze restaurant, or the grill/fish restaurant on the beach; reservation required, for an extra charge. Drinks are generally not included for guests on half-board. Vegetarian dishes and special dietary meals are offered (upon request on-site in the restaurant).
Appropriate attire is requested for dinner.

Breakfast (7-10 AM), lunch (12:30-2:30 PM), and dinner (6:30-9:30 PM) with regular theme nights in buffet style in the main restaurant. Early bird breakfast until 7:30 AM, late risers receive a small breakfast from 10-10:30 AM (upon request). From 10:30 PM to midnight, a midnight snack is offered.
1x per week, dinner in the "Elia" à-la-carte restaurant, the Meze restaurant, or the grill restaurant on the beach is included (reservation required, drinks for a fee, however, guests receive a 20% discount on drinks).
From 12 PM to 4 PM, there is also a selection of snacks, sweets, and ice cream.
Local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are included from 10 AM to midnight at the respective open bar: soft drinks, water, soda, various juices, beer, open wines (white and red), Ouzo, Raki, Brandy, vodka, gin, rum, tequila, whisky, liqueurs, as well as selected cocktails.
Selected drinks and snacks are included at the beach bar.

All Inclusive Plus

Dinner can be enjoyed once per week, subject to availability, in the "Elia" à-la-carte restaurant, the Meze restaurant, or the grill restaurant on the beach (limited availability, reservation required). Drinks and selected wines are included, other wines are available according to the menu for a fee (with a 20% discount).
The minibar is refilled every two days with 2 cans of beer and cola and 1 Sprite each; this is also included. Further drinks and snacks are available for a fee.
In addition, various iced coffee variations, over 25 cocktails, and a large selection of international brand spirits are included.

For our little guests, the hotel has a miniclub (0-2 years, under parental supervision), a kids club (3-12 years), a teens club (13-17 years, only from July 15 to August 31), a children's playground with outdoor and indoor areas, children's pool, baby cots, high chairs in the restaurant, and a diverse animation program with games, dances, quizzes, competitions, evening shows, musicals, sketches, and activities on various themes.

Wellness

Wellness center with massage salon, nail salon, and beauty salon offering facial and beauty treatments. All treatments and facilities are available for a fee.
The use of sauna and hammam is included (subject to availability).
The use of the whirlpool is for a fee.

Destination information: Climate Resilience Tax

For stays from 01/01/2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience tax, which must be paid by the guest locally, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is staggered from 01/01/2025 between 0.50 Euro and 15 Euro per day and room.
