Location

The Mare Monte is located directly on a kilometer-long, gently sloping sandy beach awarded with the "Blue Flag". The resort town of Georgioupolis, with its typical taverns, cafés, and various shops, is approximately 1 km away.
The well-known Lake Kournas is the only natural freshwater lake on the Greek island of Crete and can be reached as an excursion destination in about 6 km.
Chania Airport is approx. 45 km away, and Heraklion Airport is approx. 110 km away.

Amenities

The family-friendly complex has 200 rooms and offers a 24-hour reception, lobby, luggage storage, hotel safe (for a fee), elevator, internet corner (included), restaurant (Greek and international cuisine), à la carte snack bar (for a fee), bar, mini-market with souvenir shop, and boutique. In the well-maintained outdoor area, there is a swimming pool with a separate children's pool and sun terrace, as well as an amphitheater. Sun loungers and umbrellas are included at the pool and on the beach. Bath towels are included and can be changed every third day.
Wi-Fi is included throughout the entire complex and in the rooms.

The comfortably furnished double rooms feature a bathtub or shower/WC, hairdryer, individually adjustable air conditioning, telephone, rental safe, 32'' LCD TV, mini-fridge, and balcony or terrace (D/DB).
Optionally bookable as a slightly larger double room with higher occupancy, featuring additional single beds or bunk beds (DA).

Note regarding climate resilience fee

For stays from Jan 1, 2018, the Greek government charges a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on-site, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 Euro to 15 Euro per day and room as of Jan 1, 2025.
