Location

The family-run Hotel Paralos Irini Mare is beautifully and quietly situated between gently sloping hills, surrounded by magnificent scenery. Due to its location above a small bathing bay, the hotel offers a wonderful view of the sea. The Blue Flag awarded beach is only about 100 m away. After just a ten-minute walk, you can reach the picturesque village of Agia Galini with its many taverns, cafés, and narrow alleys that invite you to stroll around. The distance to Heraklion Airport is approx. 77 km. A bus stop is located about 800 m away.

This warm and thoughtfully managed complex with a total of 154 rooms consists of a main building and 15 annexes, spread across a beautifully landscaped, large garden. It offers its guests a lobby with a German and English-speaking 24-hour reception, the "Galini Lobby Bar", which features a balcony with magnificent views over the bay, the sea, and the village of Agia Galini, as well as the pool bar situated in the shade of palm trees, ideal for a sundowner. Luggage storage, a small library, and free, camera-monitored parking are available. Wi-Fi is included throughout the entire complex.
The modern and freshly renovated non-smoking buffet restaurant with three show-cooking stations invites you to linger on its outdoor terrace with olive trees, palm trees, and fragrant shrubs. In 2024, the à la carte restaurant "Tomatini" opened its doors, where dishes are prepared with home-grown vegetables and served as a set menu based on Greek and Cretan cuisine.
The well-maintained garden offers more than 50 different species of herbs, flowers, and trees, providing an impression of Crete's flora. The tea corner at the breakfast buffet is stocked with fresh herbs from the Cretan botanical garden, including local mountain tea, thyme, oregano, and lavender. The fruits and vegetables come from the Messara region, which includes Agia Galini and is known for its cultivation. Furthermore, the hotel also has its own orchard and olive groves with seasonal produce, very close to the UNESCO World Heritage site "Phaistos".
Palm, olive, and carob trees are scattered around the three large semi-saltwater swimming pools (one with a whirlpool, one as a quiet pool with an infinity view of Agia Galini). One pool is enriched with magnesium, which is especially beneficial for hair, skin, and health. Additionally, there is a children's pool in the garden, as well as a pool bar with a sun terrace and lawn. The pools are cleaned on an ecological basis using a salt electrolysis system. Sun loungers, gazebos, and pool towels are available here free of charge. Sun loungers on the beach are available for a fee from local providers.
Out of respect for the natural beauty of the landscape, the Paralos Irini Mare predominantly forgoes beach umbrellas. Instead, you can enjoy the natural shade of the palm and acacia trees that have been growing here since the hotel's opening.

The decor is based on natural tones and materials. These spacious rooms, designed in a modern retro style, feature a bath or shower/WC with hairdryer and toiletries, full-length and vanity mirrors, pillow selection, electronic safe, mini-fridge, coffee and tea-making facilities, kettle, a bottle of water in the room upon arrival, individually adjustable air conditioning, telephone, 42" LED TV, as well as a balcony or terrace with garden/mountain view (DSU: max. 3 occupants with 2 single beds and a sofa bed if needed). These freshly designed rooms feature centrally controlled, eco-friendly air conditioning, ceiling fan, bathroom with shower/WC, toiletries, hairdryer, full-length and vanity mirrors, coffee machine (four capsules included upon arrival), coffee/tea-making facilities, kettle, Wi-Fi (included), soundproof windows and doors, telephone, 42-inch LED TV, electronic safe, mini-fridge, a bottle of water in the room upon arrival, pillow selection, and a balcony (J2M/DJO, max. 3 occupants, with two single beds and one sofa bed).

Family Room

With the same facilities as the double rooms, the family rooms feature a separate bedroom separated by a door, with two single beds or two sofa beds (DF2). Optionally bookable with sea view for an additional charge (F2M).

Junior Suite Private Pool

These feature the same high-quality equipment as the Junior Suites, but additionally offer pool towels and a terrace with a private pool and sun loungers (ZJP). Optionally bookable with sea view (SI2/2MA).

Junior Suite Chill

The Junior Suites "Chill" are located on the ground floor and are decorated with warm natural tones and materials. Each room has its own private garden with sun loungers and a comfortable hammock.
These spacious rooms feature two single beds, a sofa, a hanging chair in the room, a functional bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer and toiletries, a full-length and vanity mirror, telephone, 42-inch satellite TV, an in-room electronic safe, individually adjustable air conditioning, a mini-fridge, coffee and tea-making facilities, pillow selection, and a bottle of water in the room upon arrival (NC2/NCI, one room).

Junior Suite Star Sleep Rooftop Sea View

The new Star Sleep Rooftop Junior Suites with sea view offer a magnificent retreat with a private roof terrace, accessible via a private staircase. A comfortable daybed, an outdoor shower, and a seating area invite you to relax. With otherwise the same amenities as the Superior Double Rooms, these rooms feature a combined living/sleeping area with twin beds and a sofa bed or sleeping armchair, and they are more spacious. These rooms also feature roof ventilation, centrally controlled air conditioning/heating, as well as a Nespresso coffee machine (4 capsules included upon arrival) and offer sea views (JMA/JMI).

South Junior Suite Sea View Plunge Pool

These new rooms offer the same facilities as the Junior Suite, but with a private terrace featuring seating, sun loungers, and a private plunge pool (B2J/JMP/W2, bookable for guests 8 years and older).

Blue Junior Suite Private Pool Sea View

The new Blue Junior Suites feature the same facilities as the Junior Suite plus a shower with access to the terrace, as well as a private pool, a sun deck with sun loungers, and a seating area (L2J/Q2A, bookable from 8 years old).

The suite with private pool has the same facilities as the Junior Suite Private Pool and consists of a separate bedroom, living room, private pool, and terrace with mountain views (SP2).
Optionally bookable with sea view (IP2), also on request.

Meals

Half Board

At Paralos Irini Mare, tradition and high-quality culinary arts are the focus. Since 2021, the kitchen has been supported by the renowned Greek chef Dimitris Chalkiadakis. Only local Cretan and Greek products are used to bring healthy, authentic, and tasty Cretan cuisine directly from the gardens to the table. Cooking is done exclusively with local olive oil from the hotel's own olive groves near the archaeological palace of Phaistos. This creates a culinary experience that offers an authentic insight into typical Cretan cuisine.
The extensive breakfast buffet (7:30 am - 10:30 am) is freshly prepared and indulges the palate with freshly squeezed fruit juices of the season (freshly harvested, subject to availability, e.g., oranges, figs, pomegranates, and medlars from the hotel's groves) as well as smoothies, honeycombs, waffles, eggs in various styles, and Greek specialties. Upon request and prior reservation, a continental early-bird breakfast can be taken from 0 am - 7:15 am.
Dinner takes place from 7 pm - 9:15 pm in buffet form with three show-cooking stations where varied meals are conjured up from fresh, regional ingredients.
Vegetarian, gluten-free, and lactose-free dishes are also offered (upon request on site).
Additionally, there is an à la carte lunch (12 pm - 3:30 pm) at the pool with healthy snacks and Greek dishes with a modern touch (for an additional charge).
Guests also have access to the à la carte restaurant "Tomatini", which offers traditional Greek and Cretan dishes. Guests can choose from various menus. The "Tomatini" uses exclusively local products and vegetables from the hotel's own garden. Dinner at the à la carte restaurant is included once a week (7 pm - 10 pm, reservation required upon arrival, latest reservation by 8 pm).
Drinks are not included with dinner.

All Inclusive

All Inclusive Plus

The All-Inclusive program at Paralos Irini Mare offers more than just comfort and takes you on an authentic journey into Cretan and Greek gastronomy.
From 7:30 am - 10:30 am, the day begins with a rich breakfast buffet with live cooking. From 7 am, a continental breakfast is available (earlier breakfast is possible upon registration the day before). During lunch hours from 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm, light dishes à la carte as well as sandwiches and snacks for take-away are offered at the pool bar. Dinner in the main restaurant is also available in buffet form from 6:45 pm - 9:15 pm, with three show-cooking stations where varied dishes are prepared from fresh, regional ingredients.
Optionally, dinner can be taken once per 7-day stay at the à la carte restaurant "Tomatini" (7 pm - 10 pm, reservation required, latest reservation by 8 pm).
Still and sparkling water, an exquisite wine list, Greek draft beers, non-alcoholic drinks, natural juices, and a selection of non-alcoholic options are included with lunch and dinner.
The pool bar offers a wide selection of coffee variations as well as cocoa, homemade iced tea, a colorful tea selection (including Cretan mountain tea and fresh mint tea), juices and juice spritzers, further refreshing drinks and water, Greek draft beer, non-alcoholic beer, an excellent selection of about 20 cocktails, mocktails, and children's cocktails, spirits such as Metaxa, Ouzo, Tequila, Jim Beam, Baileys, Amaretto, Otto's Greek Vermouth, Raki, at least two types of whiskey, gin, rum, vodka, and martini, as well as wines (red, white, rosé, sparkling wine) from 10 am - 12 am. Additionally, you can end the day at the lobby bar from 4 pm - 12 am with the above-mentioned cocktails, spirits, wines, and refreshing non-alcoholic cocktails.
