The boutique hotel is located on the east coast of Sri Lanka, directly on the beautiful, long, and wide sandy beach in the quiet bay of Passikudah.
The transfer time from Colombo International Airport is approx. 6-7 hours.
Transfer via domestic flight (approx. 45 minutes) followed by approximately 30 minutes by bus can be booked optionally for an additional charge.

The exclusive The Bay welcomes its guests to a luxurious beach setting and features 48 spacious rooms and suites, harmoniously distributed across several two-story buildings in the expansive gardens – all facing the sea for an especially relaxed holiday feeling.
At the heart of the complex is the elegant 24-hour reception with comfortable seating areas, providing a stylish ambiance from the moment you arrive. The lounge bar and beach bar provide moments of enjoyment, inviting you to linger while taking in the breathtaking views of the beach and ocean. The main restaurant serves traditional Sri Lankan specialties as well as high-standard international dishes.
A highlight is the impressive infinity pool with a separate children's pool, which is gently embedded in the well-maintained garden landscape and offers magnificent panoramic views of the sea. Sun loungers and bath towels are available free of charge by the pool – perfect for relaxing hours under the sun.

Ocean Studio

The spacious rooms are elegantly and comfortably furnished and are located on the upper floors. They feature a large bathroom with a rainfall shower/WC, bathrobes, hairdryer, air conditioning, 42" LED TV, iPod docking station, DVD player, telephone, minibar (for a fee), safe, coffee/tea maker, and a balcony with sea view.

Beach Studio

The rooms are located on the ground floor with the same amenities as the Ocean Studios and feature a terrace with garden view.

Pool Suite

These luxurious suites feature 2 bedrooms with private balconies, 2 bathrooms, a living room, as well as bathrobes, hairdryer, air conditioning, 42" LED TV, iPod docking station, DVD player, telephone, minibar (for a fee), safe, and coffee/tea maker. On the terrace with sea view, there is a spacious pool perfect for relaxing.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for young children.
Therefore, for security reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children booked into these room types.
