Location

The resort is located directly on an outer reef in the southern part of the South Male Atoll. The main island is approx. 800 m long and 200 m wide; the Dream Island is approx. 400 m long and 200 m wide. The transfer time from the airport in Male is approx. 45 minutes by speedboat.

Facilities

The hotel has a total of 376 villas and suites spread across both islands. "Dream Island" is connected to the main island by a bridge. Amenities include a reception area with a front desk and a souvenir shop on both islands, as well as a boutique and a jeweler on the main island. A total of 15 restaurants and bars take care of your culinary needs. These include the "Siyam Orchid" restaurant with Thai specialties, the "Namaste" restaurant with Indian delicacies, and the "Italian" restaurant with Mediterranean delights. The outdoor area features 6 large swimming pools, where sun loungers, bath towels, and parasols are included. Among these are an adults-only pool and the longest pool in the Maldives, measuring 210 m in length.

Accommodation

Beach Pavillion

The approx. 50 m² Deluxe rooms are located in two-story bungalows and were newly renovated in 2024. They are equipped with a shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, safe, minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea maker, double bed, and a balcony or terrace facing the sea (2BP). Can be booked at an additional cost as a Sunset Beach Pavilion (BBS).

Water Villa

With similar facilities to the Deluxe double rooms, these are built on stilts over the water, are more spacious (approx. 64 m²), and feature a furnished sun deck, sea view, and direct lagoon access (W2V).
Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased risk for young children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Deluxe Watervilla

The approx. 82 m² villas are built on stilts directly in the water and, with the same facilities as the Deluxe Water Villas, offer even more luxury with a rain shower and an unobstructed view of the lagoon (2DW).
Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased risk for young children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Rich breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner buffet in the main restaurant or a la carte in selected restaurants. Afternoon tea and snacks. Selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by the glass (e.g., water, soft drinks, juices, beer, house wine, spirits) at the open bars from 10 am to 12 am. The minibar is replenished daily with soft drinks, canned beer, and wine. Snorkeling equipment is included for the entire stay.
Additionally, the use of kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for one hour per day per person is included, and guests receive a 20% discount on motorized water sports. Guests also receive a $50 credit for all diving activities as well as on selected spa treatments. The minibar is additionally replenished daily with wine and snacks.

Fitness center, badminton, tennis, and billiards.
Kayak and SUP, 1 hour each per day free of charge.

5-star "Gold Palm" PADI and SSI Diamond Center. Various water sports (local provider).

Children's program

The "Maakanaa Kids Club" offers a varied program for children aged 3-12, as well as a children's pool.

The "The Spa" on the main island and the over-water "Ocean Spa" on Dream Island are the ideal places to harmonize body, mind, and soul. They feature hydrotherapy pools, a sauna, a steam bath, and extensive massages and treatments (for a fee).

Hotel-independent transfer information:
Speedboat: Operation for expected arrival/departure from 5 am to 11 pm // Domestic flight: Operation expected for arrivals/departures from 9:30 am to 4 pm // Seaplane: Operation expected for arrivals/departures from 9 am to 3 pm.
Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfer are possible.
There may be 1–2 stopovers on seaplane transfers.
For arrivals/departures outside these times, an overnight stay in Male must be booked in advance. The costs for this must be borne by the guest. Exceptions are changes due to flight delays, bad weather, or longer waiting times at immigration (in these cases, our local agency will take care of a potential overnight stay).
Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the location of the island), as well as currently most domestic flights, only operate during daylight hours. Therefore, an overnight stay in Male may be necessary.

The baggage allowance for seaplanes is 20 kg + 3 kg of hand luggage per person. Excess baggage must be paid for on-site (approx. 5 USD per kg). Excess baggage is usually delivered by boat.

In the Maldives, sinks or even bathtubs/whirlpools may be integrated openly into the general living area of the hotel room without spatial separation.

In the Maldives, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, there may only be a total of 1 or 2 large beds available. Consequently, it may happen that when 2 adults + 1 or 2 children are in a room, one child must sleep in the parents' bed.
