Location

The Canareef Resort Maldives is located in the southernmost atoll of the Maldives, Addu Atoll – an atoll recently declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The island offers optimal diving and snorkeling conditions. Surrounded by turquoise waters, freshwater lakes, mangroves, and pristine nature, the island features its own private picnic island and one of the longest beaches (approx. 4.5 km) in the Maldives. It is the only resort in the country with direct access to a local island on foot via a connecting bridge. The transfer time by domestic flight from Male Airport is approximately 75 minutes, followed by a 10-minute boat ride.

Facilities

The resort features a total of 271 villas, stretching along the beach on both sides of the island. Amenities include a reception area with seating and a souvenir shop. For dining, there is a buffet restaurant offering international delicacies and three bars. Additionally, two swimming pools, one with an integrated children's pool, invite relaxation. Sun loungers, umbrellas, and beach towels are available free of charge by the pool and on the beach. The island's highlight is its several natural lakes, which are unique in this form anywhere else in the Maldives.

Sunrise Beach Villa

The spacious villas, designed in a traditional style with many wooden elements, offer approximately 76 sqm of living space and feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers, air conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite TV, telephone, coffee/tea making facilities, safe, minibar (for a fee), and a terrace facing the sunrise. The villas are located on the sea side. Due to tropical vegetation, the view is limited. There is no beach on this side of the island. (S1V/SV2)

Sunset Beach Villa

With the same size and amenities, these villas are located on the sunset side. (S2V/SEZ)

Jacuzzi Beach Villa

With the same amenities, these villas are more spacious (approx. 97 sqm), located on the sunset side, and additionally feature a private outdoor jacuzzi. The wooden sundeck also includes two sun loungers and a sun umbrella. The villas are located on the sunset side. (2JV/1JV)
Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased risk for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons for children, Schauinsland-Reisen has a minimum age of 6 years for bookings of these room types.
