Location

The Canareef Resort Maldives is located in the southernmost atoll of the Maldives, Addu Atoll – an atoll recently declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The island offers optimal diving and snorkeling conditions. Surrounded by turquoise water, freshwater lakes, mangroves, and pristine nature, the island features its own private picnic island and one of the longest beaches (approx. 4.5 km) in the Maldives. It is the only resort in the country with direct access to a local island on foot via a connecting bridge. The transfer time by domestic flight from Male airport is approx. 75 minutes, followed by a 10-minute boat ride (available for arrivals until 8:30 PM (Sundays only until 1:30 PM!) / departures after 10:10 AM).

Facilities

The resort has a total of 271 villas, lined up along the beach on both sides of the island. Amenities include a lobby area with a reception and seating, as well as a souvenir shop. For dining, guests can enjoy a buffet restaurant serving international delicacies and three bars. Additionally, two swimming pools, one with an integrated children's pool, invite you to relax and unwind. Sun loungers, parasols, and bath towels are available free of charge at the pool and on the beach. The highlight of the island is its several natural lakes, which are unique in the Maldives.

Sunrise Beach Villa

The spacious, traditionally styled villas with many wooden elements offer approx. 76 m² of living space and feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers, air conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite TV, telephone, coffee/tea making facilities, safe, minibar (for a fee), and a terrace located on the sunrise side. The villas face the sea. Views are limited by tropical vegetation. There is no beach on this side of the island. (S1V/SV2)

Sunset Beach Villa

With the same size and features, these villas are located on the sunset side. (S2V/SEZ)

Premium Beach Villa Jacuzzi

Same features but more spacious (approx. 97 m²), located on the sunset side and additionally featuring a private outdoor Jacuzzi. There are also two sun loungers and a parasol on the wooden deck. The villas face the sunset side. (2JV/1JV)
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased potential hazard for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children booking these room types.

Wait times of 3 hours or more for the onward transfer are possible.
There may be 1–2 stopovers during seaplane transfers.
For arrivals/departures outside these times, an overnight stay in Male must be booked in advance. Costs for this are to be borne by the guest. Exceptions are changes due to flight delays, bad weather, or long wait times at immigration (in these cases, our local agency will assist with potential overnight arrangements).
