Location

Canareef Resort Maldives is located in the southernmost atoll of the Maldives, Addu Atoll – an atoll recently declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The island offers optimal diving and snorkeling conditions. Surrounded by turquoise waters, freshwater lakes, mangroves, and untouched nature, the island has its own private picnic island and one of the longest beaches (approx. 4.5 km) in the Maldives. It is the only resort in the country with direct walking access to a local island via a connecting bridge. The transfer time by domestic flight from Male airport is approx. 75 minutes, followed by a 10-minute boat ride.

Facilities

The resort features a total of 271 villas, lined up along the beach on both sides of the island. Amenities include a reception area with seating and a souvenir shop. For dining, there is a buffet restaurant offering international delicacies and three bars. Additionally, two swimming pools, one with an integrated children's pool, invite guests to relax and unwind. Sun loungers, umbrellas, and bath towels are provided free of charge at the pool and on the beach. The highlight of the island are several natural lakes, which are unique in the Maldives.

Sunrise Beach Villa

The spacious villas, in traditional style with many wooden elements, offer approx. 76 m² of living space and feature a shower/toilet, hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers, air conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite TV, telephone, coffee/tea making facilities, safe, minibar (for a fee), and a terrace located on the sunrise side. The villas are situated on the sea side. The view is limited by tropical vegetation. There is no beach on this side of the island. (S1V/SV2)

Sunset Beach Villa

With the same size and amenities, the villas are located on the sunset side. (S2V/SEZ)

Jacuzzi Beach Villa

With the same amenities, these villas are more spacious (approx. 97 m²), located on the sunset side, and additionally feature a private open-air jacuzzi. The wooden sundeck also includes two sun loungers and an umbrella. The villas are located on the sunset side. (2JV/1JV)

Light snacks are available throughout the day, and coffee/tea with pastries are served from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Dhoni. Speedboat: Operation for approx. arrival/departure between 5 AM and 11 PM // Domestic (domestic flight): Operation for approx. arrivals/departures between 9:30 AM and 4 PM // Seaplane: Operation expected for arrivals/departures between 9 AM and 3 PM.
Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfer are possible.
With seaplane transfers, there may be 1-2 intermediate landings.
For arrivals/departures outside the above times, in case of bad weather, or long waiting times at immigration, an overnight stay in Male may be necessary.

In the Maldives, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. For a double occupancy with 1 or 2 children, there may only be 1 or 2 large beds available in total.
