The luxurious beach resort is situated on the beautiful northeast coast of Zanzibar island and is approximately 60 minutes away from the international airport. The pearl-white sandy beach is located about 300 m from the main part of the hotel. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Indian Ocean.
The resort is surrounded by a natural coral reef, making swimming a relaxing and safe experience.

Facilities

The hotel grounds are extensive. 15 private villas were built in 2025, and the rooms and parts of the resort are currently being renovated in stages (without disturbing guests). All 174 rooms and suites offer absolute privacy. The holiday resort features a lobby with a reception and internet corner, Wi-Fi (free of charge in public areas), as well as 6 different restaurants (Gabi Beach, Spices Restaurant, Jetty Lounge, Pool Bar, The Level Restaurant, and Tamu Restaurant (à la carte restaurant with Swahili cuisine, for a fee)) and 7 different bars. The outdoor area offers 3 different freshwater pools, surrounded by extensive green areas, as well as sun loungers and parasols (subject to availability). Towels for rooms and the pool are available free of charge.
From December 22, 2026, the hotel will be called "Gran Melia Zanzibar".

The family rooms have 2 separate living areas (bedroom and living room) and 2 balconies. These are located on the first floor with garden or sea view. Otherwise, same features as the "Melia Garden Room" (DF2).

The Level Beach Pavillion (BF2)

The exclusive rooms (80 m²) (bookable for ages 16 and up), which are located directly on the Indian Ocean and offer a magnificent sea view, are equipped with a king-size bed, premium minibar (daily replenishment with non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks), Wi-Fi, telephone, hairdryer, cosmetic mirror, separate shower, large bathtub, safe (for a fee), wellness ball, air conditioning, private terrace, and tea/coffee-making facilities.
From December 22, 2026, these rooms will be called "Red Level Romance Pavilion" and are bookable under the code 2GT.

The Level Grand Zanzibar Suite (S2)

Absolute relaxation is guaranteed in this 117 m² suite (bookable for ages 16 and up), which features a large bedroom with a king-size bed, a bathroom with a 48-inch TV, and a large, separate lounge with a dining area. Only bookable until December 21, 2026!

Please note that, regardless of arrival time, hotel check-in does not take place until 2:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.
We would like to inform you that all airlines from Tanzania are currently on the EU's so-called "blacklist." For this reason, they are currently not authorized to operate long-haul flights to the EU. Therefore, we do not currently use any of these airlines for our long-haul flights to the EU.
The lack of authorization is not due to specific safety problems with individual airlines, but rather to the inspection and safety procedures of the Tanzanian aviation authority, which do not currently meet EU safety requirements.
The airlines we use for domestic flights (e.g., for transfer flights from Zanzibar to the Tanzanian mainland) are, however, subject to the international safety assessment ISSA by IATA (International Air Transport Association) or a comparable safety assessment. These assessments meet the globally recognized safety standards of the aviation industry.
