Safaris always start on Mondays.
Day 1 "Mombasa-Tsavo West National Park“: Pick-up from your hotel early in the morning (South Coast around 5:30 AM, North Coast 6:30 AM) and transfer to the train terminal in Mombasa for a train journey (1st class) to Mtito Andei (departure 8 AM, arrival 11:18 AM). After arrival, pick-up and onward journey with the Severin Camp vehicle to Tsavo West National Park, where you will enjoy your first lunch at your accommodation, the "Severin Safari Camp". In the afternoon, the first game drive begins through Tsavo West National Park with a 6-seater vehicle and an English-speaking driver/guide. The vast and diverse habitats offer an ideal area for spotting prides of lions, buffaloes, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and wildebeests. Enjoy a sundowner at the "Mzima Springs", an underground water source that seeps in the "Chyulu Hills", a good spot for observing hippos. There is also a wide variety of bird species. Dinner will also take place at your booked accommodation (Severin Safari Camp).
Day 2 "Tsavo West National Park“: Spend the entire day in Tsavo West National Park with a morning game drive and a 1.5-hour guided nature walk. All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and overnight stay will continue at the "Severin Safari Camp".
Day 3 "Tsavo West National Park-Mombasa“: The day starts with an early breakfast, followed by a transfer to the Mtito Andei train station for the return journey by train (1st class) to Mombasa (departure 10:54 AM, arrival 2 PM). After arrival in Mombasa, transfer to your booked hotel.
Minimum participants: 2 people.
Safaris can start on the 2nd day of your stay at the earliest. Latest return to your booked beach hotel is 2 days before departure. Program sequence changes are subject to change.
Carrying e-cigarettes on the train journey is not allowed!
After booking completion, we require passport copies of all travel participants. These are needed to book the train journey (res.afrika@schauinsland-reisen.de)

Day 2: After a morning safari along the sources of the Tsavo River – the lifeline for hippos and crocodiles – breakfast awaits you at the camp. Afterwards, you will have time to relax in the KENBALI Spa. For lunch, choose from our à la carte menu in the restaurant and enjoy the fantastic view over the vast savannah. In the late afternoon, you will be taken to the highlight of the day. At Poacher's Lookout, enjoy the beautiful sunset with a glass of sparkling wine and canapés. From here, you have a magnificent view over the El Turesh bushland. On the way back to the camp, experience the African savannah at night – an unforgettable adventure. When our driver switches off the engine, you can enjoy the silence amidst the wilderness under the starry sky. After an exciting day in the African bush, a culinary dinner awaits you in our camp.
Day 3: The day begins with an early breakfast, followed by a transfer to the Mtito Andei train station for the return journey by train (1st class) to Mombasa (departure 10:54 AM, arrival 2 PM). After arrival in Mombasa, transfer to your booked hotel.
