A tourism tax came into effect on April 1, 2021, and currently amounts to a one-time payment of 224 Mexican Pesos, or approximately 11 US Dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

Seasonal Information

During stays between April and December, an increased occurrence of seaweed and algae may be observed due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, a more frequent presence of brown algae is often noted in the Caribbean, affecting the beach and sea. Hotel management and local authorities are naturally making efforts to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which may generate some noise.
