In Mexico, sinks or even bathtubs/whirlpools may be integrated openly into the main living area of the hotel room without spatial separation.
**************************************
From now on, hotels in Mexico will gradually be introducing an "Eco-Tax".
This means that every user of a hotel room in Mexico is obliged to pay a fee to the state on-site at the hotel in cash, similar to a tourist tax.
**************************************
As of April 1, 2021, a tourism tax has been implemented and currently amounts to a one-time payment of 224 Mexican Pesos or approximately 11 US Dollars per person, regardless of the planned length of stay in the country.
The tax can be paid electronically before departure via the following link: http://www.visitax.gob.mx/sitio/
Alternatively, the tax can also be paid in cash upon arrival at the airport. It is advisable to carry the exact amount in Mexican Pesos or US Dollars. In Mexico, sinks or even bathtubs/whirlpools may be integrated openly into the main living area of the hotel room without spatial separation.

No Smoking

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

********************
During stays between April and December, increased seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased occurrence of brown algae is often recorded in the Caribbean during this period. This affects the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are naturally striving to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which generates a slight background noise.
