Location

Located directly on the beach of Kantenah near the village of Akumal. Cancun Airport is approx. 90 minutes away.

Accommodation

Holiday complex with a total of 264 rooms under the management of the renowned Spanish Palladium Hotel Group. Together with the Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa and Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa, the hotel forms a resort whose facilities can be used jointly (TRS Yucatan Hotel excluded). Wi-Fi in the lobby and in the rooms included. Dining options include 9 à la carte restaurants (e.g., Italian, Asian, Brazilian) as well as 5 show-cooking restaurants and 21 bars. A pool landscape with 6 pools adorns the lush gardens. Sun loungers, parasols, and bath towels are available free of charge at the pool and beach. The facilities also include a souvenir shop, jeweler, hairdresser, doctor, a boutique, a shopping arcade (for a fee), and 2 amphitheaters.

Accommodation

Junior Suite

The Junior Suites are approx. 52 m² and are equipped with one king-size bed or two queen-size beds, a sofa bed, minibar (daily refill), tea/coffee set, iron/ironing board, air conditioning, ceiling fan, safe, satellite TV, Wi-Fi (included), telephone, bathroom and shower, WC. There is also a whirlpool in the room, a hairdryer, bathrobes, and a balcony (JGB/JGS). Also bookable as Poolside (J2S) and Beachside (BSJ).

Suite

The suites are approx. 67 m² and feature a separate bedroom with a king-size bed, a living area with a sofa bed, a whirlpool in the bathroom, and 2 balconies. Otherwise same facilities as the Junior Suites (GS2).

Overwater Villa Suite

With the same facilities as the suites, these are located directly on the lake and feature a private jetty with a canoe and an outdoor shower. Living room and bedroom on the same level. Only bookable for adults (R2N).

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds are placed in the room; this means occupancy: 2 persons per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

In the evening, Dine Around à la carte is possible upon availability (neat attire requested), bites and international non-alcoholic drinks around the clock, alcoholic drinks from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Beer, soft drinks, and snacks from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. in the sports bar. Room service (10 a.m. to 11 p.m.).
The GP Colonial and GP Kantenah can be used as well.

Zusatzhinweis

As of now, hotels in Mexico will gradually introduce an "Eco-Tax".
Therefore, every user of a hotel room in Mexico is required to pay a state-levied fee on-site at the hotel in cash, similar to a tourist tax.

A tourism tax was implemented on April 1, 2021, and currently amounts to a one-time fee of 224 Mexican Pesos or approx. 11 US dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

Alternatively, the tax can also be paid in cash at the airport upon arrival. It is recommended to carry the exact amount in Mexican Pesos or US dollars.

Smoking ban

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

During a stay between April and December, an increased occurrence of seagrass and algae can occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, a frequent increase in brown algae in the Caribbean is recorded during this time. This affects the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, striving to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, the use of appropriate equipment is necessary for this, which causes a slight background noise.
