Location

The hotel is located directly on the sandy beach of Playa Bavaro. Restaurants, bars, and various shopping and entertainment venues are in the vicinity. The international airport of Punta Cana is only 25 km away.

Amenities

The Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Bavaro consists of 160 luxurious rooms. These are spread across several two-story bungalows within the newly designed hotel complex. The hotel features a private lobby with a reception desk and 3 restaurants, a beach restaurant, 2 bars, a swim-up bar (at the Bavaro), a garden area with a lagoon-style pool landscape, a sun terrace, and a snack bar. Additionally, there is a private beach area with Balinese daybeds for all Coral Level guests.

Junior Suite

The Junior Suites (approx. 45m²) feature a sleeping and living area with a sofa bed, coffee/tea making facilities, minibar (daily replenishment), air conditioning, ceiling fan, safe, high-quality speaker system, Wi-Fi, telephone, bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, and balcony (JS2/JS1/KJ1/KJ2/J2B/J1B). Also available to book as a Junior Suite Oceanfront (2JO/1JO) or Junior Suite Pool Access (2YZ/1YZ).
Rooms with direct pool access present an increased safety risk for young children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Junior Suite Superior

With the same amenities, these rooms are located near the beach and pool (JU2/JU1). Available to book as a Junior Suite Near Beach (JNB, JNE) from November 1st, 2023.

Family Junior Suite

The Family Junior Suites (approx. 90m²) feature two bedrooms with a king-size bed or two queen-size beds. Bathroom with shower/WC, Wi-Fi, Smart TV, coffee machine, safe, minibar (daily replenishment), iron/ironing board, air conditioning, ceiling fan, and balcony with garden view (FJS/FK8/FK9).

Wearing a wristband is necessary to take advantage of the all-inclusive benefits.
Appropriate attire is requested in the restaurants (no swimwear; shirts with short sleeves in the à-la-carte restaurants). In the Dominican Republic, sinks or bathtubs/whirlpools may be integrated openly into the general living area of the hotel room without a spatial partition.

Guests staying at the Bávaro complex can visit the Coral Lab to see corals and learn more about them, thanks to the two coral nurseries in front of the hotel where our scientific team works to restore the reefs.
The hotel has its own composting plant. Organic waste is converted into compost, which we can use for our gardens.
We are part of the country's national mangrove restoration program, and at the Bávaro complex, we have planted more than 19,000 mangroves donated by the Ministry of Environment.
Beehives are rescued and brought to the apiary we have in the complex, which can be visited by all guests.
In collaboration with the National Aquarium, the Institute for Environmental Law of the Dominican Republic, and the Blue Flag program, the National Aquarium rescues turtles. Once they have reached an appropriate size and health, they are released on the beaches of the Iberostar hotels.

Seasonal information

During a stay between April and December, there may be an increased occurrence of seagrass and algae due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased occurrence of brown algae is often recorded in the Caribbean during this time. This can impact the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, making every effort to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal administrations. However, the use of appropriate machinery is required for this, which causes a slight background noise.
