Location

The hotel belonging to the Bahia Principe hotel chain is located on Playa Bávaro (Higüey), 35 minutes from Punta Cana Airport, 90 minutes from La Romana Airport, and 55 minutes from Higüey. Situated on a beautiful white sandy beach and surrounded by tropical vegetation, this property is particularly suitable for families, but also offers plenty for friends and golf enthusiasts, with 5 golf courses nearby.

Facilities

The well-maintained 5-star resort of the renowned chain offers its guests the following amenities: an air-conditioned main restaurant, a snack bar, and 1 à la carte specialty restaurant. A highlight is the water and adventure park for children, featuring a lagoon-style pool, a large pool, a huge children's area, a swim-up bar, and spacious sun terraces. Sun loungers, umbrellas, and beach towels are available free of charge by the pool and on the beach. The main area also boasts a large, open reception hall. Guests can use the facilities of the sister hotels Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro and Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana (excluding their buffet restaurants). Facilities of the Luxury Bahia Principe Fantasia and Aquamarine hotels cannot be used.

Information

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For double occupancy with 1-2 children or 3 adults, no extra beds will be placed in the room; meaning occupancy is 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

All meals are served buffet-style; dinner can be enjoyed at one of the 3 à la carte restaurants (reservations required weekly). A snack bar is available, and all local alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are served at the hotel bars until 11 PM. After 11 PM, AI services (snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, and American food) are only available at the Snack Bar of Bahia Principe Village. After 11 PM, only alcoholic beverages are served at the discotheque (until 2 AM). Soft drinks, beer, and water are included in the minibar. Entry and exclusively national drinks at the discotheque are included. Gastronomic events are offered by the pool and on the beach.

Sports included

Fitness room, Zumba, and tennis (floodlighting at an additional charge) are included. Additionally, enjoy 1 hour per day (subject to availability) of catamaran, kayaks, boogie boards, paddle surfing, snorkeling, and a 1-time introductory scuba diving lesson in the pool per stay (subject to availability). Volleyball, soccer, aerobics, and dance classes are also available.

Sports for a fee

PADI diving school, boat trips, Crazy Banana, deep-sea fishing, paragliding, tennis lessons, and the 18-hole Punta Blanca Golf Club.

A wristband is required to use the All-Inclusive services. Internet access in Pueblo Principe is subject to a fee. Smoking is prohibited in all restaurants. Appropriate attire is required in all restaurants (no shorts, flip-flops, or swimwear). Smoking is only permitted at the beach snack bars, not in the restaurants! In cases of low hotel occupancy, there may be occasional restrictions on restaurant opening hours (excluding the main restaurant).

Seasonal information

During stays between April and December, increased occurrences of seaweed and algae may be experienced due to wind, temperature, and currents. Brown algae are particularly common in the Caribbean during this period, affecting the beach and sea. Hotel management and local authorities are diligently working to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of equipment that may generate some noise.
