Location

The Bahia Principe hotel chain property is located on Playa Bávaro beach (Higüey), 35 minutes from Punta Cana airport, 90 minutes from La Romana airport, and 55 minutes from Higüey. Situated on a wonderful white sand beach and surrounded by tropical vegetation, this resort is particularly suitable for families. Friends and golf enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy. There are 5 golf courses nearby.

Facilities

This well-maintained 5-star resort of the beautiful chain offers its guests the following amenities: an air-conditioned main restaurant, a snack bar, and 1 à la carte specialty restaurant. A highlight is the water and adventure park for children with a lagoon-style pool, a large pool, and a massive children's area, a swim-up bar, and large sun terraces. Sun loungers, parasols, and pool towels are available free of charge at the pool and on the beach. The main area also features a large, open lobby with a reception. Guests can also use the facilities of the sister hotels, Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro and Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana (with the exception of the buffet restaurants). Facilities at the Luxury Bahia Principe Fantasia and Aquamarine hotels cannot be used.

These beautiful, large rooms are designed in a Caribbean style and feature a bathroom, hairdryer, air conditioning, ceiling fan, direct-dial telephone, satellite TV, minibar (soft drinks, water, and beer included), safe, coffee and tea maker, iron/ironing board, a small seating area, and a balcony or terrace (JU2/JU1).
From November 1st, 2026, available as a 1 King Bed Junior Suite (JS2/JS1) and as a 2 Double Beds Junior Suite (JU2).

Wearing a wristband is necessary to take advantage of the All-Inclusive services. Internet at Pueblo Principe for a fee.
Smoking is generally prohibited in the restaurants. In all restaurants, entry is only permitted in appropriate attire (no shorts, beach shoes, swimwear).
Smoking is only permitted in the beach snack bars, not in the restaurants! If hotel occupancy is low, there may be restrictions on the opening hours of the restaurants (with the exception of the main restaurant) in exceptional cases.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, there may be an increased occurrence of seaweed and algae due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased presence of brown algae in the Caribbean is often recorded during this time. The beach and the sea may be affected by this. Hotel management and local authorities are, of course, making efforts to clean the affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, the use of appropriate equipment is required for this, which may cause a slight noise level.
