This hotel, belonging to the popular RIU chain, is located within the RIU Resort complex on the beautiful sandy beach of Arena Gorda. Punta Cana International Airport is approximately 25 km away, and the center of Higüey is about 40 km away.

The expansive luxury resort, completely renovated in the summer of 2024, features 994 rooms spread across a main building and several 2–3-story annex buildings. Facilities include a buffet restaurant with a terrace, 6 à la carte restaurants (including fusion, Japanese, steakhouse, and the new American Country), a food court with diverse stations, an ice cream parlor, and 7 bars, including 2 swim-up bars (for ages 18+) and a 24-hour sports bar. The tropical garden area now features 10 pools, including a children's pool with slides. Additionally, there is a spa, theater, RiuArt Atelier, shops, a nightclub, and the "Splash Water World" water park with 6 slides. Sun loungers at the beach are included.

Junior Suite

The modernized junior suites are located in the main building and are spacious, featuring a bathroom/WC with a hydromassage bathtub, air conditioning, satellite TV, flat-screen, safe, minibar, beverage dispenser, coffee/tea maker, ironing board, and iron. They also offer a small seating area with a sofa bed and a balcony or terrace (JS2/JS1/K3J/KJ1/KJ2). Also bookable as Junior Suite Superior with courtyard view (2JS/1JS).

Seasonal information

During a stay between April and December, an increased presence of seagrass and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased occurrence of sargassum (brown algae) is often recorded in the Caribbean. This may affect the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, making every effort to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with local municipal administrations. However, the use of appropriate machinery, which may generate some noise, is necessary for this purpose.
