Location

The hotel is located directly on the sea, approximately 3 km from the fishing village of Bayahibe. Several shops, bars, and restaurants are in the vicinity. Punta Cana Airport is approximately 80 km away.

The popular whala!bayahibe hotel has a total of 295 rooms spread across several buildings. The beautifully landscaped outdoor area features a total of 4 swimming pools, 3 of which are filled with seawater. Sun loungers and sun umbrellas are available free of charge by the pool and on the beach. For culinary delights, there is a buffet restaurant, an A-la-carte restaurant (reservation required), a specialty restaurant (Japanese, for a surcharge), as well as a bar, snack bar, and beach bar.

During stays between April and December, increased presence of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased occurrence of brown algae is often recorded in the Caribbean during this period. This affects the beach and the sea. Hotel management and local authorities are of course making efforts to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which can generate some noise.
