Location

This old family estate is located on the border between El Sauzal and La Matanza at an altitude of about 550 m. The small town of La Matanza is very close by and is known for its excellent typical restaurants serving local dishes. The area is also known for its good local wines. The owner family has been running its own winery there since 1880, producing good wines; if interested, a visit with the host is certainly possible. Banks, supermarkets, bakers, and butchers can be found in the town. Puerto de la Cruz with its beaches and seawater pools is about 10 km to the north, the capital Santa Cruz is 25 km away, and it's about a 1-hour drive to the airport.

Facilities

The typical Canarian country house dates back to the early 18th century and has been owned by the Flores family ever since. Originally, it housed the workers who cultivated the land. Today, the finca still has 3,000 m² of land, primarily planted with vines and fruit trees.
The house itself, with its 130 m² of living space, has been exquisitely restored. The typical window niches and ceiling beams are made of teak wood. Old furniture from the family estate has been restored, creating charming areas that make the house resemble a museum. At the same time, it has been modernized to ensure comfort. There is also a separate barbecue house with a rustic table and benches.
The adjacent garden features fruit trees, flowers, and a lawn. From here and from the terraces, you have a beautiful view of the sea and the entire north coast all the way to Puerto de la Cruz. The entire surroundings are rural. The house is beautifully secluded, not overlooked, and very quiet.

House

The lower room is generously designed with an integrated kitchen. The kitchenette extends along the entire front and includes a sink, ceramic hob, extractor hood, coffee machine, toaster, small refrigerator, and attractive crockery in the authentic old wall cabinets. There are two different dining tables, a desk, and various seating areas. The sofa with a coffee table is placed in front of a closed cast-iron stove (wood for this can be obtained from the landlord for a fee). The entire room is very well-lit due to the numerous windows, and the front third of the room opens up to the roof, with a large glass window inserted into the roof tiles.
The upper part of the house is reached via a wooden staircase. The entire upper area still has the old, well-preserved wooden floors. One bedroom is separate and has 2 single beds (0.90x1.90) placed apart and 1 small round window and sloping ceiling beams. The 2nd bedroom has a French bed (1.35x1.90), a nicely painted cot – please note that this room is open to the living room, secured by a wooden veranda. In the middle of these bedrooms is a small bathroom with a shower-bath combination (dimensions 1.20 x 0.70), sink, and toilet.
The lower room has two doors leading to the outdoor terraces, which are equipped with attractive garden furniture (F22).

In the outdoor area, there is another extension with a room for fitness, a whirlpool is available, an exercise bike, and a rowing machine.
For the very sporty, there are also 2 mountain bikes available.
