Location

Located on the border between El Sauzal and La Matanza at an altitude of 550m, this old family estate. The small town of La Matanza is very close by and is known for its excellent typical restaurants serving local dishes. The area is also known for its good local wines. The owner family has been running its own bodega since 1880 where good wines are produced; a visit with the host is certainly possible if interested. Banks, supermarkets, bakeries, and butchers can be found in the town. Puerto de la Cruz with its beaches and seawater swimming pools is approx. 10 km to the north, the capital Santa Cruz is 25 km away, and the airport is about a 1-hour drive away.

Facilities

The typical Canarian country house dates back to the early 18th century and has been owned by the Flores family ever since. Originally, the workers who cultivated the land lived there. Today, the finca still has 3,000 m² of land, predominantly planted with vines and fruit trees.
The house itself, with its 130 m² of living space, has been exquisitely restored. The typical window niches and roof beams are made of teak wood. Old furniture from the family's possession has been restored, creating beautiful areas that make the house resemble a museum. At the same time, it has been modernized to ensure comfort. There is also a separate barbecue house with a rustic table and benches.
The garden in front features fruit trees, flowers, and a lawn. From here and from the terraces, you have a beautiful view of the sea and the entire north coast up to Puerto de la Cruz. The entire surroundings are rural. The house is secluded, not overlooked, and very quiet.

House

The lower room is generously designed with an integrated kitchen. The kitchenette extends across the entire front and has a sink, ceramic hob, extractor hood, coffee machine, toaster, small fridge, and pretty crockery in the authentic old wall cabinets. Two different dining tables, a desk, and various seating areas. The sofa with a coffee table is in front of a closed cast-iron stove (wood for this can be obtained from the landlord for a fee). The entire room is very bright due to the many windows, and the front third of the room is open upwards to the roof, with a large glass window inserted into the roof tiles.
The upper part of the house is reached via a wooden staircase. The entire upper area still has the old, well-preserved wooden floors. One bedroom is separate and has 2 separate single beds (0.90x1.90) and 1 small round window and sloping ceiling beams. The 2nd bedroom has a French bed (1.35x1.90), a nicely painted cot - please note that this room is open to the living room, secured by a wooden veranda. In the middle of these bedrooms is a small bathroom with a shower bath (size 1.20 x 0.70), sink, toilet.
The lower room has two doors leading to the outdoor terraces, which are furnished with pretty garden furniture (F22).

Inclusive Sports

There is another annexe in the outdoor area with a room for fitness, a whirlpool is available, an exercise bike, a rowing machine.
For the very sporty, 2 mountain bikes are also available.

Therefore, regular consultation hours for tour guides are not held. Instead, each traveler has the option to arrange an appointment by phone if needed. The categorization of a finca is only a rough guide, as the furnishings are individual and do not include the services of a hotel!
