It is also an institution dedicated to developing projects for the conservation, education, and research of flora and fauna, such as projects for the Cuvier's gazelle, the African elephant, and the Canary Island camel. Thanks to the latter project, it houses the largest camel reserve in Europe, and research is conducted into the benefits of camel milk for human health.

The park is open year-round and offers several restaurants, a children's play area, and a petting zoo. A shuttle service is also available (€6.50 p.p., pick-up times from the respective hotel, return journeys at 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM). The distance varies between 6-30 km (15-30 minutes travel time) depending on the hotel/location.
