It is also an institution dedicated to the development of projects for the conservation, education, and research of flora and fauna, such as the projects for the Cuvier's gazelle, the African elephant, and the Canary camel. Thanks to this last project, the largest camel reserve in Europe is located here, and the health benefits of camel milk for humans are being researched.

The park is open year-round and offers several restaurants, a children's play area, and a petting farm. A shuttle service is also available (€6.50 per person; pick-up times at each hotel; return trips at 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM). The distance from each hotel/resort ranges between 6-30 km (15-30 minutes driving time).
