Location

The Enotel Sunset Bay hotel (formerly Enotel Baia) is located directly on the pebble beach of Ponta do Sol (note: swimming shoes recommended, rocks/stones in the water), in a quiet environment, separated from the sea only by the coastal road, and is approximately 25 km (approx. 25 minutes by car) from Funchal. There are regular bus connections. A bus stop is in the immediate vicinity. Funchal Airport is approximately a 40-minute drive from the hotel.

The cozy double rooms with sea view are approx. 37 m² in size and feature a bathroom with shower, WC, hairdryer, air conditioning/heating, cable TV (with approx. 30 channels), Wi-Fi (included), telephone, rental safe, and a small refrigerator (DM).
Double room sea view balcony (furnished, approx. 31 m² in size) available at an extra charge (2MB). Also available as a double room sea view for single use (without balcony, DEM) or double room sea view balcony (furnished, 1MD) for single use.

The double rooms sea view type A have the same equipment as the double rooms sea view, but with a French balcony (DMA).

Every year between May and June, the 'Ponta do Sol' bathing area is prepared for the bathing season and is inaccessible during this period. There may be acoustic disturbances during the work.
The 2026 bathing season runs from 7.6. to 14.9., which means that sun loungers and umbrellas can be rented during this time and there is a lifeguard on duty.

Between the end of May and the beginning of June, as well as between the end of August and the beginning of September, a traditional folk festival takes place annually (it can get a bit livelier in front of the hotel from the afternoon until late in the evening).

Directions from Funchal Airport (FNC):
From the airport in Funchal, take the expressway towards "Funchal/Ribeira Brava/Calheta". After approx. 25 minutes of driving time, you will reach Funchal, but stay on the expressway towards "Ribeira Brava". Follow the signs to "Ponta do Sol". After another approx. 15 minutes of driving time, you will reach Ponta do Sol. The hotel is located on the main road/coastal road (directly by the sea).
