Location

The Monte Mar Palace Hotel is located on the north coast, in a fantastic panoramic setting on the edge of the tranquil village of Ponta Delgada, directly above the sea. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the "Island of Flowers". The popular natural sea pools made of lava rock are only about 15 km away. The lively island capital Funchal is about 40 km away.

The hotel has a total of 112 rooms, a reception hall with a reception desk, elevator, the restaurant 'O Montado' (also à la carte), the cozy 'Cliff Bar', and an indoor pool. In addition to an unforgettable panoramic view, the well-maintained outdoor area offers a freshwater swimming pool, children's pool, sun terrace, and a pool bar. Sun loungers are included. The double rooms with mountain view (BD2) are approximately 25 m² in size, elegantly and attractively furnished with twin beds, a bathroom, toilet, hairdryer, telephone, cable TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, a safe (for a fee), and a furnished balcony. Also bookable as a double room mountain view for single occupancy (BD1).

Double Room Sea View

The double rooms with sea view (DM) are also approximately 25 m² in size, elegantly and attractively furnished with twin beds, a bathroom, toilet, hairdryer, telephone, cable TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, a safe (for a fee), and a large balcony with sea view. Also bookable as a double room sea view for single occupancy (DEM). Also available as a Double Room Sea View Type I (DMI) at a special price, with a limited quota and bookable exclusively with half board.

Premium Double Room Sea View

The premium double rooms with sea view (2PM) are located on the 3rd floor and offer high-quality furnishings with wooden floors and furniture, as well as many amenities such as 2 bottles of water upon arrival, USB connection (next to the beds), bathrobes and slippers, tea and coffee making facilities, and a large balcony with 2 sun loungers, from which you can enjoy the panoramic view even better. Also bookable as a premium double room sea view for single occupancy (1PM) for an extra charge. From Winter 25/26, also bookable as a Premium Double Room Sea View Type I (PMI) at a special price.

Suite Sea View

The suites with sea view (S2M) are ideal for families with 1-2 children. They are correspondingly larger than the double rooms (approx. 50 m²), and while otherwise equipped the same, they feature a separate living area with a sofa bed, double beds, and sea view.

Breakfast and dinner served buffet-style or as a menu (depending on hotel occupancy). Poncha workshop: All schauinsland-reisen guests are invited to participate in a Poncha workshop at the hotel bar once per stay (Saturdays from 5:30 PM to 6 PM). Poncha is a traditional sugarcane spirit served everywhere.
