Location

Located directly by the sea, on a cliff above "Doca do Cavacas" and "Praia Formosa" with panoramic views of the Atlantic. The centre of Funchal is approx. 4.5 km away, the "Praia Formosa" beach is approx. 10 minutes' walk away and the Lido is just a few minutes away. Shopping facilities, such as the modern "Forum" shopping centre, are in the immediate vicinity; a bus stop is directly in front of the hotel.

The comfortable and modern 4-star hotel has a total of 172 rooms, suites, and apartments, spread over 7 floors and 3 building sections (A, B, and C). Amenities include a lobby with a reception and seating area, 2 lifts per building section, a restaurant, 2 bars, an internet corner (free of charge) and Wi-Fi (free of charge throughout the hotel), a TV corner, and a library. In the well-kept garden, the freshwater swimming pool with sun terrace and the "Goldenout" pool bar (open in summer) invite guests to swim and relax. Separate from the adult pool, there is a separate children's pool. In addition, an indoor pool with heating is available to guests.

Same facilities as the double rooms, but in building A and without a balcony with views of the land (EO).

The double rooms are located in building C, are approx. 34 m² in size, are stylishly and high-quality furnished, and feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, telephone, Wi-Fi (included), safe, satellite and cable TV, minibar (for a fee), kettle, air conditioning, and a balcony with partial sea views (DMS).

Apartment with partial sea view

The apartments with partial sea views are located in building B, are approx. 45 m² in size, and have the same facilities as the double rooms, plus a living/dining room with a sofa bed and a fully equipped kitchenette (stove, microwave, etc.) (2AS).
Apartment with sea view bookable for an additional charge (2AM). Occupancy with 2 adults, 2 children, and 1 baby possible on request.

Apartment Premium with sea view (bookable from Winter 26/27)

The Premium apartments with sea views have the same facilities as the apartments with partial sea views, but are more spacious at approx. 62 m² and have sea views (PN2). Also bookable as an apartment Premium with partial sea views type O with a special price and limited availability (2OS) as well as with direct sea view type O (ASO).

Suite (Summer 26)

The suites (approx. 45 m²) have the same facilities as the apartments, but with a slightly smaller living/dining room, fully equipped kitchenette, located in building A (S2).
Suite with partial sea view (building A) is bookable for an additional charge (MS2).

Zusatzhinweis

Star tour excursion program (subject to change/daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover the most beautiful panoramas of Madeira on this half-day tour. From the hill Pico dos Barcelos you can overlook the bay of Funchal and then continue to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down to the bottom of an extinct volcano. At the very bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley). Continue to Monte, where you will visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you will have the opportunity to ride the traditional basket sleds. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Espada – black scabbardfish – is caught). We continue via Cabo Girão (Europe's highest sea cliff at 580m), and then the path leads us along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta do Sol, it goes upwards to the Pául da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, it goes downhill to Porto Moniz to the natural sea swimming pools. A lunch break is taken here. The return journey is made via the north coast and leads via Seixal to São Vicente. From there it goes upwards via the Encumeada pass (1007m), where one can see the north and south coasts at the same time. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). The route then goes downhill to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the middle of Madeira's laurel forest (Laurisilva), which has been named a World Heritage Site. The journey continues to Santana, which is famous for its thatched-roof houses. A lunch break is taken here. Then we continue to Pico do Facho. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and last excursion leads us, after a approx. 1.5-hour levada hike (difficulty level: easy), to the Botanical Garden, which is famous for its around 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and tour included).
