The hotel is located in the heart of Funchal's hotel district, separated from the sea only by the promenade. Adjacent to the hotel is the Lido sea swimming pool. Funchal's city center is about 2.5 km away. Funchal Airport is approximately 19 km away.

The Porto Mare hotel offers its guests the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. The hotel has 198 rooms, an elevator, a buffet restaurant and three à la carte restaurants, various bars, and four conference rooms. In the spacious garden, there are two freshwater swimming pools with a separate children's pool and a pool bar. Sun loungers, beach towels, and umbrellas are included by the pool. All facilities of the Suite Hotel Eden Mar and The Residence holiday complex can be used.

The rooms (approx. 30-35 sqm) are comfortably and modernly furnished, featuring a bath/WC, hairdryer, cosmetic mirror, bathrobe, safe (free of charge), Smart TV, telephone, minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea making facilities, air conditioning, and a balcony (D). Also available for single occupancy (DE). With sea view and for single occupancy available at an additional charge (DM/DEM).

Superior double room sea view

These rooms are renovated with the same amenities as the double rooms and feature a minibar stocked with water and soft drinks (filled once upon arrival), a Nespresso machine, and a welcome gift (DMU).
Available for single occupancy at an additional charge (DME).
Also bookable as Superior double room sea view type O with limited availability and at a special price (UMO).

Junior Suite partial sea view

These rooms are approximately 56 sqm with the same amenities as the double rooms and additionally feature a separate sleeping area (sliding door), a kitchenette with a stove, a replenished minibar with water and soft drinks (filled once upon arrival), a Nespresso machine, microwave, a welcome gift, and a partial sea view (J2S).

Star Tour Excursion Program (subject to change/Daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover Madeira's most beautiful panoramas on this half-day tour. From Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint, you overlook Funchal Bay and continue to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down into the crater of an extinct volcano. At the very bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley). Continue to Monte, where you will visit the Church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you will have the opportunity to ride the traditional basket sleds. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Espada - Black Scabbardfish - is caught). Continue over Cabo Girão (Europe's highest sea cliff at 580m), then the route leads along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta de Sol, ascend to the Paul da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, descend to Porto Moniz to the natural swimming pools. A lunch break is taken here. The return journey is via the north coast, passing through Seixal to São Vicente. From there, ascend over the Encumeada Pass (1007m), offering views of both the north and south coasts simultaneously. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). Then descend to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the midst of Madeira's Laurisilva forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue the drive to Santana, known for its thatched houses. A lunch break is taken here. Afterwards, proceed to Pico do Facho. Then return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and final excursion includes a 1.5-hour levada walk (easy difficulty) to the Botanical Garden, famous for its approximately 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
