The hotel is located in the heart of Funchal's hotel district, separated from the sea only by the coastal promenade. The Lido saltwater swimming pool is located next to the hotel. The center of Funchal is approx. 2.5 km away. Funchal airport is approx. 19 km away.

The Hotel Porto Mare offers its guests the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. The hotel features 198 rooms, an elevator, a buffet restaurant, three à la carte restaurants, various bars, and four conference rooms. In the spacious garden, there are two freshwater swimming pools with a separate children's pool and a pool bar. Sun loungers, pool towels, and parasols are included at the pool. Guests can use all facilities of the Suite Hotel Eden Mar and The Residence resort.

The rooms (approx. 30-35 sqm) are comfortably and modernly furnished and feature a bath/WC, hairdryer, vanity mirror, bathrobe, safe (free of charge), Smart TV, telephone, minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea making facilities, air conditioning, and a balcony (D). Also bookable for single occupancy (DE). Available with sea view for an additional charge and bookable for single occupancy (DM/DEM).

Double room Superior sea view

With the same amenities as the double rooms, these rooms are renovated and feature a minibar stocked with water and soft drinks (filled once upon arrival) as well as a Nespresso machine and a welcome gift (DMU).
Bookable for single occupancy for an additional charge (DME).
Also bookable as Double room Superior sea view type O with limited quota and at a special price (UMO).

Junior Suite lateral sea view

With the same amenities as the double rooms, these suites are approx. 56 sqm and additionally feature a separate bedroom (sliding door) as well as a kitchenette with a stove, a fridge stocked with water and soft drinks (filled once upon arrival), a Nespresso machine, microwave, a welcome gift, and a lateral sea view (J2S).

Zusatzhinweis

Star tour excursion program (subject to change/daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover the most beautiful panoramas of Madeira on this half-day tour. From the Pico dos Barcelos height, you can overlook the bay of Funchal, and the tour continues to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down to the floor of an extinct volcano. At the very bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley). Continue to Monte, where you will visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride the traditional wicker sleds. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Black Scabbard fish is caught). The tour continues via Cabo Girão (at 580m the highest cliff in Europe), and then the path leads us along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta de Sol, it goes uphill to the Pául da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, it goes downhill to Porto Moniz to the natural sea swimming pools. The lunch break is taken here. The return journey is via the north coast and leads via Seixal to São Vicente. From there, it goes uphill via the Encumeada pass (1007m), where you can see the north and south coast at the same time. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). The route then leads downhill to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the middle of Madeira's laurel forest (Laurisilva), which has been named a World Heritage Site. The trip continues to Santana, which is known for its straw-roofed houses. The lunch break is taken here. Then it goes to Pico do Facho. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and last excursion takes us, after a approx. 1.5-hour levada hike (difficulty level: easy), to the Botanical Garden, which is famous for its approx. 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
