The hotel is located in the middle of the Funchal hotel district, separated from the sea only by the promenade. The Lido sea swimming pool is next to the hotel. Funchal city center is about 2.5 km away. Funchal Airport is about 19 km away.

The Porto Mare Hotel offers its guests the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. The hotel has 198 rooms, a lift, a buffet restaurant and three à la carte restaurants, various bars, and four conference rooms. The spacious garden features two freshwater swimming pools with a separate children's pool and a pool bar. Sun loungers, beach towels, and umbrellas are included by the pool. With the same amenities as the double rooms, these rooms have been renovated and feature a minibar stocked with water and soft drinks (filled once upon arrival), a Nespresso machine, and a welcome gift (DMU).
Available for single use for an additional charge (DME).
Also available as a Double Room Superior Sea View Type O with limited availability and at a special price (UMO).

Junior Suite Side Sea View

With the same amenities as the double rooms, these rooms are approximately 56 sqm and additionally feature a separate sleeping area (sliding door) and a kitchenette with a stove, a refilled minibar with water and soft drinks (filled once upon arrival), a Nespresso machine, a microwave, a welcome gift, and a side sea view (J2S).

Star Tour Excursion Program (subject to change/daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover the most beautiful panoramas of Madeira on this half-day tour. From the Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint, you overlook the bay of Funchal, and then continue to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down into the crater of an extinct volcano. At the very bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley). Continue to Monte, where you will visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride the traditional wicker sleds. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Espada - Black Scabbardfish - is caught). Then continue over Cabo Girão (Europe's highest sea cliff at 580m), and then the route leads along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta de Sol, the path leads upwards to the Pául da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, descend to Porto Moniz to the natural swimming pools. The lunch break is taken here. The return journey is via the north coast, passing through Seixal to São Vicente. From there, ascend over the Encumeada pass (1007m), where you can see both the north and south coasts simultaneously. Then return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). Then descend to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the middle of Madeira's laurel forest (Laurisilva), a UNESCO World Heritage site. The drive continues to Santana, known for its thatched houses. Lunch break is taken here. Afterwards, drive to Pico do Facho. Then return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and final excursion leads us to the Botanical Garden after an approx. 1.5-hour Levada walk (difficulty level: easy), famous for its approximately 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
