The Porto Mare hotel offers its guests the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. The hotel has 198 rooms, an elevator, a buffet restaurant and three à la carte restaurants, various bars, and four conference rooms. In the spacious garden area, there are two freshwater swimming pools with a separate children's pool and a pool bar. Sun loungers, pool towels, and parasols are included at the pool. Guests can use all the facilities of the Suite Hotel Eden Mar and The Residence resort.

The rooms (approx. 30-35 sqm) are comfortably and modernly furnished and include a bath/WC, hairdryer, vanity mirror, bathrobe, safe (free of charge), smart TV, telephone, minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea making facilities, air conditioning, and a balcony (D). Also bookable for single use (DE). Available with sea view for an additional charge and for single use (DM/DEM).

These rooms have the same furnishings as the Double Rooms but are renovated and feature a minibar stocked with water and soft drinks (filled once upon arrival) as well as a Nespresso machine and a welcome gift (DMU).

Also bookable as a Double Room Superior Sea View Type O with limited capacity and at a special price (UMO).

Junior Suite Lateral Sea View

With the same furnishings as the Double Rooms, these are approx. 56 sqm in size and additionally feature a separate bedroom (sliding door) as well as a kitchenette with a stove, a refrigerator stocked with water and soft drinks (filled once upon arrival), a Nespresso machine, a microwave, a welcome gift, and a lateral sea view (J2S).

Sternfahrt Excursion Program (subject to change/daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover the most beautiful panoramas of Madeira on this half-day tour. From the Pico dos Barcelos hill, you can overlook the bay of Funchal, and the trip continues to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down to the bottom of an extinct volcano. At the very bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley). Continue to Monte, where you will visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride the traditional wicker sledges. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous black scabbard fish is caught). The journey continues via Cabo Girão (at 580m the highest cape in Europe), and then the route takes us along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta do Sol, it goes uphill to the Paúl da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, it descends to Porto Moniz to the natural seawater swimming pools. The lunch break is held here. The return trip is via the north coast and leads through Seixal to São Vicente. From there, it goes uphill via the Encumeada pass (1007m), where you can see the north and south coasts simultaneously. Afterward, return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). The descent leads to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the middle of Madeira's laurel forest (Laurisilva), which has been declared a World Heritage Site. The journey continues to Santana, known for its thatched houses. The lunch break is held here. Afterward, you go to Pico do Facho. Afterward, return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and final excursion takes us, after an approx. 1.5-hour levada hike (difficulty level: easy), into the Botanical Garden, which is famous for its approximately 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
