The Hotel Alto Lido is located just 2.5 km west of Funchal and offers a magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean. The "Forum" shopping center with numerous shops, as well as various bars and restaurants, are within walking distance. Funchal Airport is approximately 24 km from the Alto Lido.

Double room, side sea view, upper floor

With otherwise the same amenities as the double rooms with side sea view, the double rooms with side sea view on the upper floor (DOS) are located above the 10th floor and offer additional amenities such as bathrobes and slippers, access to the sauna and Turkish bath, as well as early check-in and late check-out (subject to availability).
Also available for single occupancy (1OS).

Deluxe double room, sea view

The deluxe double rooms with sea view (2DM) are approx. 30 m² in size, feature the same amenities as the double rooms with side sea view, but offer direct sea view and additional amenities such as bathrobes and slippers, access to the sauna and Turkish bath, as well as early check-in and late check-out (subject to availability) and a seating area. Also available as a deluxe double room with sea view for single occupancy (1DM) or as type I room (MDI) with limited availability.

Zusatzhinweis

Guided tour excursion program (subject to change/Daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover the most beautiful panoramas of Madeira on this half-day tour. From the heights of Pico dos Barcelos, you can overlook the bay of Funchal and continue to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down to the bottom of an extinct volcano. Far below lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley). Continue to Monte, where you will visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride the traditional toboggan sleds. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous black scabbardfish is caught). Continue via Cabo Girão (at 580m, the highest cliff in Europe), and then the path takes us along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta do Sol, it goes uphill to the plateau of Pául da Serra (1400m). Finally, descend to Porto Moniz to the natural sea swimming pools. This is where the lunch break is taken. The return journey is via the north coast and leads through Seixal to São Vicente. From there, it goes up over the Encumeada pass (1007m), where you can see the north and south coasts at the same time. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). The route then goes downhill to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the middle of the Laurisilva forest of Madeira, which has been declared a World Heritage Site. The journey continues to Santana, which is known for its thatched houses. This is where the lunch break is taken. Afterwards, head to Pico do Facho. Then return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and final excursion leads us, after a approx. 1.5-hour levada hike (difficulty: easy), to the Botanical Garden, which is famous for its approximately 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
