Location

The Quinta, with its individual flair, is surrounded by a beautiful garden landscape on the outskirts of the pilgrimage site of Monte, above Funchal. The centre of Funchal is approx. 3 km away. It can be reached, for example, by two extraordinary means of transport: the historical wicker toboggans or by cable car (both for a fee), the departure point of which is just a few minutes' walk away.

The stylish 4-storey building with a total of 42 rooms features a lobby, à-la-carte restaurant, conservatory, lift, bar, library, Wi-Fi (included in the lobby & rooms), common rooms, games room, and an indoor pool. Particularly inviting is the park-like garden area with lush vegetation (including trees over 300 years old) and a wonderful view over the bay of Funchal. In the garden area, there is also an old chapel decorated with hand-painted azulejos (typical Madeiran wall tiles).

Double room

The double rooms, renovated in 2024, are approx. 23 m² and feature a wooden floor, bath/WC, hairdryer, bathrobe, air conditioning/heating, cable TV, telephone, minibar, safe (free of charge), and balcony with garden view (D).
Also bookable as a double room for single use (DE).
Additionally available from winter 25/26 as double room type I (DI).

Superior double room

The superior double rooms have the same facilities as the double rooms but are located on the upper floor and additionally feature an armchair, desk, and chair (DSU).

Arrival by car

Directions from Funchal Airport (FNC):
After leaving the airport, take the expressway towards Funchal. Take the "Monte" exit. At the next junction, turn left and drive uphill to a roundabout. Take the first exit to the right. At the end of the road, turn left and continue uphill to the town centre of Monte, which you will reach after approx. 3 minutes on the right-hand side (main square of Monte). Turn right onto the square and follow the narrow path to the right, which runs along the church. Turn left at the next opportunity (starting point of the wicker toboggans), steeply up the mountain. The entrance to the Quinta do Monte is located after approx. 50 m on the right-hand side.
