Location

Quietly located on a hillside above Funchal, offering wonderful views of the city, the sea, and the surrounding mountains. It is approx. 3 km to the center of Funchal with its numerous restaurants, cafés, and shopping opportunities. A public bus connection/stop is located opposite the hotel. The airport is approx. 22 km away.

Facilities

Well-maintained and appealing upper-mid-range comfort hotel with stylish furnishings. The complex has a total of 164 rooms, spread over 2 buildings. Amenities include a lobby with reception, buffet restaurant, a modern à la carte restaurant, cocktail bar, indoor pool, whirlpool, and a lounge. In the garden area, there is a swimming pool (heatable) with a sun terrace (sun loungers, pads, pool towels, and umbrellas included) as well as a pool/snack bar.

Double room

The double rooms (partially renovated) are equipped with bath/WC, hairdryer, balcony, air conditioning, heating, telephone, cable TV, minibar, Wi-Fi (included), and rental safe (for a fee) as well as laminate flooring (D). Double rooms with side sea view (DMS) or direct sea view (DM) can be booked for an extra charge. The rooms with direct sea view (DM).
Also bookable as a double room for single use (DE) or double room for single use with sea view (DEM) for an extra charge.
Additionally bookable as double room type I side sea view (DIS), however with limited availability, at a special price and exclusively with half board or half board plus.

With identical facilities to the double rooms with sea view, these can be booked at a special price with limited availability (DMO).

Double room Superior sea view

The double rooms Superior sea view (DMU) are renovated and have the same facilities as the double rooms with sea view; they are located in the new annex on the 2nd-3rd floor and feature a shower or bath and a large balcony. When booking half board, one à la carte menu per stay is included at no extra charge.
In winter 24/25 also bookable as double room Superior sea view type A (DAS).
From winter 25/26 additionally bookable as double room Superior sea view type O (UMO) at a special price.

Directions from Funchal Airport (FNC):
Exit the motorway at the Sao Martinho exit. Turn left onto Caminho do Esmeraldo. After approx. 200 m, turn left again at the roundabout onto Caminho de Sao Martinho. After about 500 m, you will see a Shell gas station on the left. Turn immediately right here onto Avenida dos Estados Unidos da America. Follow the road until you see the sea on your right. The Hotel Madeira Panoramico is on the left side.
