Location

The Quinta Splendida Wellness & Botanical Garden hotel is idyllically situated amidst a magnificent botanical garden covering over 30,000 m² with old subtropical trees and more than 1,000 different plant species, inviting guests to stroll and relax. From here, there is also a wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean. The town of Caniço, with its restaurants, bank, post office, and shops, is in the immediate vicinity. There is a public bus connection to Funchal (approx. 8 km).

The beautiful adults-friendly resort (ages 13 and up) consists of a historic mansion (Quinta), which has been lovingly restored and redesigned with great attention to detail, as well as several low-rise residential buildings nestled within the Botanical Garden. The hotel, with a total of 166 units (80 studios, 41 apartments, 20 double rooms, and 25 spa suites), features a reception with a guest PC (free internet access), Wi-Fi (free throughout the hotel), the main restaurant "Galeria" (buffet and à la carte), gourmet restaurant "La Perla" (in the historic mansion), and the "Thai Lounge" serving Asian and Thai fusion cuisine. The outdoor area includes a large freshwater swimming pool with sun terrace, pool/snackbar, and sun loungers and umbrellas (included).

Double Room Wellness Garden View

With the same amenities as the Double Room Garden View, guests of the Double Room Wellness Garden View (DWB) enjoy 3 free spa entries (for stays of 7-13 nights) or 6 free spa entries (for stays of 14-21 nights). The days on which the free spa entry is redeemed will be booked at reception upon arrival, subject to availability (treatments, bathrobes/slippers & tea at a fee).

Studio Garden View

The comfortably furnished Studios Garden View (2SG) are approx. 30 m² and feature a combined living/sleeping area (2 beds or double bed), bathroom or shower/toilet, hairdryer, kitchenette, refrigerator, heating, telephone, rental safe (for a fee), satellite TV, and a balcony or terrace with its own small garden.
Studio with partial sea view (M2S) bookable for an additional charge; these are located on the ground floor and first floor. The view from the ground floor may be partially obscured by plants.
Also available as Studio Garden View for single occupancy (1SG) or Studio with partial sea view for single occupancy (M1S) for an additional charge.

Apartment Partial Sea View

The Apartments Partial Sea View (2AS) have the same amenities as the studios but are larger (approx. 52 m²) and additionally feature a separate bedroom (divided from the living area, sometimes only visually) and a partial sea view. Apartments can be booked with children aged 13 and up.

Suite Sea View incl. Spa

Spa Suite (S2S): The Spa Suites include daily free access to the hotel's spa (without treatments). The very spacious suites, approx. 80-115 m², are modernly and cheerfully furnished. In addition to a large bathroom with toilet and hairdryer, the suite features a king-size bed, 65-inch LED TV, minibar (for a fee), and safe. Bathrobes, towels, and slippers are included. Furthermore, the Spa Suites have a large balcony or terrace and floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows offering spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. Breakfast is served in the "Galeria" restaurant with buffet and menu; with half board, you automatically participate in the resort's dine-around concept and dine in one of the restaurants (3-course menu). Occupancy of Spa Suites is reserved for adults aged 16 and over.

Guests of the Spa Suites with half board bookings have the option to dine in the hotel restaurants free of charge (3-course à la carte menu, reservation required). Summer 2026: For half board guests, a festive flower festival dinner with house drinks is included on May 2nd, 2026.

Directions from Funchal Airport (FNC):
From the airport, take the highway towards Funchal. At exit 16, take the exit towards Caniço. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right towards Caniço. Follow the road uphill for about 500 meters. The entrance to the Quinta Splendida hotel is on the right side, opposite the post office.
