Location

Beach holiday on Madeira! This popular hotel is located next to a small marina, directly on the golden sandy beach (man-made) of Calheta. A rarity on Madeira, as only a few hotels on the beautiful island offer direct access to a sandy beach. It is approx. a 10-minute walk (1 km) to the town. Funchal is approx. 35 km away and Madeira's international airport is approx. a 40-minute drive (approx. 50 km) from the hotel. We recommend booking a rental car (EDV-Code: FNC012A) to be able to explore the island conveniently.

The beach hotel has a total of 153 rooms and suites for your comfort, spread across two buildings and 5 floors. In addition to a reception area, Wi-Fi (included in public areas), lounges, 2 elevators, and 3 bars, the hotel offers a buffet restaurant with show cooking, an à-la-carte restaurant 'Onda Azul', and the 'Local Beach Restaurant'. In the outdoor area, you will find a green sun terrace with a swimming pool and children's pool (umbrellas, sunbeds/cushions, and 1 pool towel included; replacement for a fee). Sunbeds and umbrellas are available at the beach for a fee.

Double room

The approx. 22.5 m² tastefully designed double rooms (D) feature a bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet and hairdryer, air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, safe for rent, minibar (for a fee), and a furnished balcony. Double room with sea view (DM) can be booked at an extra charge. All double rooms are located in the main building. Bookable for a maximum of 2 adults.
Double room for single use (DE) and double room with sea view for single use (DEM) can also be booked for an extra charge.
Additionally bookable as Double room with sea view Type A (DMA, single occupancy AME in summer 25) including AI meal service.

Suite Superior Sea View

The Suites Superior Sea View (SUM) are located in the main building and offer the same amenities as the double rooms but are significantly more spacious (approx. 60 m²) and feature a bathroom with shower and bathtub, separate toilet, living room with sofa bed, separate bedroom, coffee/tea maker, and a large balcony with a direct sea view.

Suite

The suites (S2) offer the same amenities as the double rooms but are larger and feature a living room with an open kitchenette, a separate bedroom, a bathroom with a shower, a separate toilet, and a balcony.
Suite with side sea view (MS2) or Suite with sea view (S2M) can be booked for an extra charge. The suites and suites with side sea view are located in a separate building behind the main building (connected by a hallway).

Family Suite (FNCA03)

The cozy approx. 44 m² family suites feature a combined living and sleeping area, shower/WC, TV, individually adjustable air conditioning, safe for rent, minibar (for a fee), and a balcony (2FS, KFS, 3FS, KF3). Also available with side sea view (FSS) or sea view (2FM) for an extra charge.

Arrival by car

Directions from Funchal Airport (FNC):
Take the motorway towards Funchal/Ribeira Brava. You will drive through several tunnels until the end of the motorway in Ribeira Brava (approx. 30 minutes). After taking the Ribeira Brava exit, you will reach a stop sign where you will see a sign for "Ponta do Sol". Follow this sign (there is a "Repsol" petrol station on the left), which leads you directly to the town of Ribeira Brava. You will now reach a road junction; just after passing a small bridge, you must turn right and continue towards Ponta do Sol. After you have reached the town of Ponta do Sol, drive through another tunnel and remain on this coastal road. You will pass through the town of Arco da Calheta and subsequently reach the town of "Vila da Calheta", where the Calheta Beach hotel is located.
