Location

The charming village of Tux at the foot of the Hintertux Glacier impresses not only with its quiet location but also with its richness of facets and special flair. Your holiday resort also offers an extensive selection of restaurants and cozy bars. Get to know your holiday region from its culinary side and visit local establishments (e.g., ErlebnisSennerei Zillertal in Mayrhofen, approx. 14.2 km away). Look forward to swimming fun in cool water at the Erlebnisbad Mayrhofen indoor pool, 21 km away. Immerse yourself in the wonderful landscape during extensive hikes or on your mountain bike.
In winter, a free ski bus with a stop directly at the hotel takes you to the nearest lift. The Lanersbach and Hintertuxer Gletscher ski areas are easily accessible. A practice lift for beginners is reachable in about 1 km, and the cross-country ski trail starts right outside the house.

Facilities

The Hotel Höhlenstein, partly renovated in 2021 and rated 4 stars, offers a total of 28 accommodation units, a welcoming lobby with seating areas, a reception, and an e-bike charging station. Indulge in culinary delights in the restaurant and a traditional Stüberl (small dining room). You can round off an eventful day of your holiday in good company at the hotel bar. A conservatory and a terrace are also available for relaxation. Cyclists can use the hotel's lockable bicycle storage room. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.
